Does anyone know the fastpass policy? Are you still issued one and then have to wait a certain amount of time to get another or can you get more than 1 at a time?

The fastpass will have the time that you can get another. You do have to wait before you get another.

still the same policy. You are issued the one, then wait for a certian time fram to expire then you can get another...

Whenyou get a FP you will see 2 times on it. One is your return time for the attraction and the other is the time you can get another FP. If the attraction return time is after the next time you can get a FP then you can get another one after that time so you will have 2 active FP's in your posession. The only FP without the 2nd time on it is for LMA over at the studios. If you get this FP you can get another one immediately.
Sometimes the time showing on the FP you just got for getting another FP is "NOW". If you see this you can get another FP right away.

Going on our first trip to WDW in a couple weeks. Are you folks talking about more than one fastpass for ONE attraction? Or do you mean that I will not be able to get a fastpass for Haunted Mansion if I'm already holding a fastpass for Philharmagic?
I've read that sometimes when the parks are crowded your fastpass for Test Track from 10:00 AM will tell you to come back at 7PM. So that would shoot your whole day from getting any other fastpasses. So...I'm assuming that you're talking about only getting one fast pass at a time for each individual attraction.
Is that right?

No. If you get a fastpass that can't be redeemed for more than 2 hours, you may get a new fastpass (for that attraction or any other) after 2 hours have passed.
In your example, you get a fastpass for Test Track at 10am with a return time from 7:00 to 8:00. Your fastpass will say that you may get another fastpass after noon. After noon you may get a fastpass for any attraction, but between 10am and noon you cannot get a fastpass for anything (except Lights, Motors, Action at MGM).

If you can be disciplined enough to grab a fast pass for something before you use the fast pass you are holding (i.e. as soon as the time allows you to), you will zip through the lines and feel like you have a special deal going on.

There is a 2 hour window for fastpasses. This means that if you are going to get a FP for say Splash Mountain at 12:00PM you cannot get another FP for any other ride until after 2PM - this is why many will get a FP for Big Thunder and then stand in line for Splash Mountain, etc. By the time you wait in line for 1 you will be close to your FP time for the other.

Thanks for the info! That clears it up nicely. I was wondering why any lines would still be in existence if all you had to do was grab fastpasses in the morning and then just ride the rides at your assigned time. I pictured everyone having a stack of fastpasses for the entire day and planning their park time around their assigned ride times. This makes much more sense now.
Thanks! :sunny:

Hold the phone...read your fastpasses!

We were in EPCOT back in June and they were testing multiple fastpasses. I went into Soaring, and just happened to ask the CM at the counter if you still had to wait for your next fastpass. He said, "Did you read your fastpass?" I looked down and it stated you could get multiple fastpasses. This is NOT something they were promoting.

I was hoping this was a successful test as I ran over to test track and got a fastpass right away, and was able to get one for Mission Space too. It would be soooo great if they changed this.

So make sure you read those fastpasses!

Check the fastpass machine BEFORE you get the fastpass. It should have the time the fastpass is good for listed.

We learned this the hard way last spring when we grabbed fast passes for Test Track at 11am that couldnt be used until 6 PM!!! We had to wait TWO more hours before we could get anyother one and that wasted a big hunk of out afternoon.

We were there in October, and they checked the time of the FP (ours had expired) they would not let us in the FP line - however, since I had fallen (spraining both ankles needing a wheelchair)I had asked about this in guest service and was assured I could use an expired fp - the CM taking the FP sent me to a manager...

Another guest was venting about the lack of FP for soarin, and the CM manager was listening and making suggestions, but was reminding the guest that if there were an unlimited amount of FP then the FP line would be as long as stand by...

(and he did ok my expired FP - it was 3 hour late) and the FP line seemed very long, but we timed it, it was a 20 min wait, compared to the 2 hour wait in standby...

I am hearing different things about WDW FP on this forum. I am planning my first WDW trip in Feb and am very experienced with FP at DLR. At DLR, there are many idiosyncracies that you can use to your advantage. One of those is that it is policy to always except late FastPasses even though they do not tell this to the guests. The Cast Members on the DLR boards confirm this. And I always use FPs late at DLR with never a problem.

So, does anyone know how strict WDW is about the one-hour window? The message above seems to indicate they are strict. But I have read elsewhere that they are like DLR and always accept late FPs.

I have never had any problems using FP at any of the parks later than the times on the tickets. Several time have been 2 or 3 hours later.

FYI, in August at DLR I got a FP first thing in the morning and the window was 8:55-9:55AM. We used it at 11:50PM that night. No problem.

Believe it or not, the standby line at midnight was 100 minutes!

The one hour window is usually not enforced at WDW, but on attractions like Soarin', they may actually enforce it. It is such a popular ride right now, and if there is a rush of late fastpassers, both the fastpass line and the standby line can get held up. I've heard this has happened a few times, but it's the exception when the rules are followed.

We too were in WDW in October and had no problems using late FP's - ran into this problem when we realized our return time coincided with our ADR. We went to Splash Mtn after dinner and had no problems entering the FP line approx 1 1/2 hours late - so maybe at the discretion of the CM???
