I'm thinking about doing an WDW trip in 2015, but one thing I can't get over is the complications of Fastpass Plus. The 30 or 60 day reservations or spending 60 minutes in BTMRR queue is my biggest fear with this system. This leads to my question of How can FastPass Plus be used effectively for single travelers? How Solo friendly is it especially those who are thinking off site?

Well, I stayed on-site when I used FP+ for the first time in September during my recent Solo trip, so I can't speak on how will it works with a 30-day window. I booked all of my FP+ 60 days out, and got everything I wanted.

The one piece of advice I can give is to make sure you don't waste a FP+ on one of the three attractions that have a Single Rider line. As a Solo using a Single Rider line, you can pretty much walk on the attraction. These include:
  • Test Track
  • Expedition Everest
  • Rock n' Roller Coaster
Hope that helps a little! :goodvibes

As far as I can tell, this system does not seem to discriminate against solo travelers. My trip was also onsite, and I booked some FP+ solo, and others with a friend. Was able to get everything I wanted, except Maelstrom because they closed the ride, boo-hoo.

I used FP+ on my solo trip in September and found it worked well but I was more willing to ignore or remove my fastpasses if on the day I didn't need them.

As a solo traveler you will find getting fastpasses easier than trying to get them for a group of 6

I've stayed off site solo & used FP+ w/no issues. If the 1st time around I wasn't able to get 7DMT or a parade, I tried again the next day & kept checking until I got it. I got 7DMT both times & the new Festival of Fantasy Parade once less than 30 days out. You might have to be flexible & change things around to accommodate the time you are offered but it could definitely work! Have fun!! :goodvibes
