FastPass+ must be coming soon

I think the only way they can bring back Fastpass is if the reduce distancing. Right now some of the lines snake through what was their fastpass lines. I know there’s been talk of the CDC changing distancing guidelines to be 3 ft instead if 6, but I don’t think that’s actually been changed yet.

Where is the idea coming from that “all rides have extremely long waits”? When are some of you visiting the parks, 10 AM on Christmas Day?? I’ve been following TouringPlans and MDE, and have many friends working the parks over the past few months - it seems wait times are largely manageable, outside of the middle of the day when they do tick up a bit...

Just weird to see the same line being repeated all over this Forum, YouTube, WDW Reddit, etc.
The wait times are not that bad, really. Now, the physical length of the lines, on the other hand... 😉

We've been to WDW several times since they reopened in July.

The lines are physically long but move quickly. For most attractions, wait times have been shorter than what we typically experienced in pre-COVID years.

Agree. I’ve been following TP and MDE too and it doesn’t look too bad right now.... just wondering how they will manage lines with the inevitable increase in capacity....

What makes you think this?

Orange County is closing in at 50 percent vaccinations, which is what Orange County Mayor Demmings said he needed to lift the mask mandate. I don't think WDW will keep the mask requirement beyond Orange County's, and by lifting the maskless photo ban, they've already started making steps in that direction.

You can't have social distancing without masks. There's already a pretty large movement in the country to destigmatize maskless outdoors. Once the mask requirements are lifted, the social distancing will follow. And if you get rid of social distancing, there's no reason for the parks not to head back towards normal capacity.

If you get back to normal distancing, then the FP lines can be used again. If the lines can be used, and capacity is increasing, FPs come back. The tech is already there -- it'll just a matter of flipping a switch.

I know it seems quick, but wide-scale vaccinations stared three months ago, and look where we are. The end of June is two months away -- in the scheme of this pandemic, that's still a very long time.

That's why I think full capacity and fireworks by the Fourth of July.

. Orange County Florida

In phase 1, effective immediately, the physical distancing requirement is being reduced from six feet to three feet. The CDC has also been considering reducing their physical distancing recommendation and recent studies have found that a three-foot distance is safe when wearing a face mask.

Phase 2 begins when 50% of the population over the age of 16 has received their first dose of the vaccine. At this time, the face covering mandate will be lifted for outdoor settings. Currently, 35.7% of the eligible population are vaccinated.

Phase 3 begins when 70% of the population over the age of 16 has received their first dose of the vaccine and Orange County’s 14-day rolling positivity rate is 5% or lower.

I didn't realize it was first dose. That should be July without question.

I think the larger questions is does WDW hold to a mandate that doesn't apply elsewhere in Orange County. My thought is no -- or at least not for long -- but I do wonder about how the overall ramping back up is going to go. I think FPs are easy -- it's just changing some programing. But I wonder if, given how quickly things are going, they are regretting some of the other decisions they've made. Mostly I'm wondering whether getting rid of Magical Express -- which seemed like a no-brainer in the middle of the pandemic -- now might be looked at as a mistake. Or how long it will take them to re-instate tram service, or remove plexiglass. Or fireworks and parades.

The other question I wonder about is how quickly transportation rebounds. I was in Orlando three weeks ago, and the airport still seemed dead. There still aren't tons of rental cars. I wonder how long it will take for that part of the process to get back to the insanity that is normal. How many people at MCO were laid off -- like baggage handlers, or TSA agents? Those to me become the interesting questions as we move past the pandemic phase and into the recovery phase of this thing.

People equate long lines to long wait, when mostly the long line are due to the social distancing requirements.

We have a trip scheduled for the end of the year, it will be our first in 8 years - so we haven't experience FP+ yet. I would hope, before they bring back FP+, they change the ADR timing. The idea of trying to do both FP+ and ADRs on the same day would make me nervous.

Having been to WDW for several onsite stays since they reopened in July, Disney would be nuts to bring anything like FP+ back until ride and show restrictions are lifted.

For example, this is what the line for Slinky Dog Dash is like most mornings.

Crazy that people wait in line that long for a ride. I will never understand it. You either rope drop that one or you wait until about an hour before closing time. Heck, 30 minutes prior - no line.. get right on.

Airline travel for this Summer is said to be back at pre-Covid levels. This is coming from the big lines like United and Delta. They are optimistic. Rental cars are a different story. Paying $100 a day for a economy or compact car right now insane but that is supply and demand. Supply is very low. Demand is high. Going to be interesting and will be interesting to see how they do it all in phases. Same with cruise lines. Those will kick back up in July.

Slinky Dog Dash is one of those attractions with shorter waits near park closing.

Besides, Slinky Dog Dash is better at night!

And yet they are still cutting flights. Can’t be that high if they are cutting the number of flights. I have flights booked on American AND United, and both of them have been moved because they are merging flights to fill planes. If demand was truly at pre-COVID levels, all the flights they originally offered would be filled and they would not be merging them.

For this Summer? They are adding flights out of Houston Bush and Hobby. Same for Dallas. Even the small regional ones are coming back online. Don't forget that they are taking the Boeing Max 9 planes offline for maintenance due to issues -- in phases. They are hoping to have all of them back online by July. A lot of new routes being added - unprecedented amount of route changes and new routes being added as well Major revamp and major demand for this Summer and beyond.

I was thinking about this too! If/when FP+ comes back, there's no way they can keep both FP and ADRs at 60 days. That would be crazy and there's no way you'd get anything you want.

Maybe they are just cutting flights from where you live.

“glitches”, do you know how many glitches my account has all the time?
I have spent hours on the phone over the years making sure things were correct because the account shows something different. Lol

mask mandate
Personally don’t see Disney totally lifting masks based on 50% first shot on OC because they know how many come from other places.
ease them sure, lift totally I don’t think right away

FP
i too think it will be charged for or at least have a charged upgrade
