FastPass+ must be coming soon

For this Summer? They are adding flights out of Houston Bush and Hobby. Same for Dallas. Even the small regional ones are coming back online. Don't forget that they are taking the Boeing Max 9 planes offline for maintenance due to issues -- in phases. They are hoping to have all of them back online by July. A lot of new routes being added - unprecedented amount of route changes and new routes being added as well Major revamp and major demand for this Summer and beyond.

They are cutting them from the NYC area.

I have an upcoming trip for mid-May and when I just clicked on my plans there is now FASTPASS + with Start Now! button. It doesn't do anything yet but it must be coming soon. It wasn't there this afternoon.View attachment 570283
I wish it comes soon!

Having been there in January, and going again in 2 weeks... I'd love for FP+ to return, but knowing how they use the queue lines for social distancing, there's no way they could bring it back until the restrictions are gone.

I know I’m in the minority, but I hope you’re right! I think this is one thing that Universal does WAY better than Disney, and I’d happily budget for a paid FP+ option and/or a deluxe hotel stay that includes FP+ perks. 100%.

One of the aspects of Universal I didn't like was the constant attempts to upsell on their FP type system. Would I pay to FP at Disney? That said, if the only place I saw the option to upgrade to FP was in the app, I'd be all for it.

Just add it to the once-free-now-an-extra-expense category along with DME.

United just announced yesterday that will be at 90% of what they were in the SUmmer of 2019 out of Newark. Just FYI. American Airlines adding 20-30 routes out of NYC area as well and expect to be 90% of what they were in the Summer of 2019. Both major airlines are restructuring their aircraft routes with wider body planes. They are also recalling the pilots and crews and furlough.

I hope it doesn't come back before my trip in early June. I'm looking forward to a trip where I don't have to plan out every moment of our trip. Of course, if FastPass comes back, I will utilize it so I don't have to wait in long standby lines, but I hope I don't have to.
Exactly! I was beginning to think maybe I was the only person hoping it doesn't come back before my upcoming trip! I wouldn't mind a little relaxation on the mask rules though.

FWIW- both of our flights on Southwest in mid-May between New Orleans and Orlando were consolidated. Pretty frustrating because our flight from New Orleans to MCO was timed perfectly but they moved it about 4 hours earlier and it has created issues with last day of school and work

I found it interesting that the Orange County mayor’s plan immediately reduces social distance to 3 feet. An instant doubling of possible WDW capacity and only a couple weeks before their earnings call. Given his criteria for phase 2 and 3, it’s possible that Orange County mask requirements could be gone in a couple months. It will be interesting to see how fast WDW follows them or not.

Sorry, I’m a little cynical this morning 😜.

Southwest changed my return flight from Orlando to Hartford CT by way of Chicago (yes change planes in Chicago) and after the change has left me in Chicago without a connection to Hartford. Their customer service line currently has a 2 hour wait to speak to a rep.. I haven't waited that long to talk to Disney!!!

Yeah, a lot of moving around right now and can be frustrating for sure. They are moving more flight to certain routes and consolidating others. Major revamp with the lines right now and for most of the Spring. They are getting ready for that big Summer jump. They are adding new service to new airports as well and trying to crew up. Southwest also added some international flights this month out of there. Crazy times and glad I don't work for the airlines anymore.

Wow! Their 6:35 PM flight was cancelled?

All I can say is my experience with flights scheduled on both of those airlines.

I was on a 6am flight to Nashville from LGA on American. They eliminated that flight and it's now 12:55pm. THAT is the first flight to Nashville of the day. At least 2 were eliminated there - the one I was on and at least one more. Had a non-stop back to JFK. Eliminated. Changed to a connection in Charlotte.

For my birthday trip, I was on a 5-something am flight on United out of Newark. Flight eliminated. Changed to a 9-something am flight. (I opted to reschedule to an afternoon flight the day before and will stay at the MCO Hyatt. This flight has now been moved up splitting the difference between the flight I was on and the one that was before it time-wise. Two flights combined into one.) The flight home was 8:55pm and now got moved to 7:00pm, merging flights once again.

So I don't know what flights they are adding. But my experience shows them merging and eliminating.

They did cancel a lot of flights in January and February, but since late March air travel has been steadily increasing. I think will see things really start to pick up this Summer which is good for the airline industry.

I must be in the minority too, because I agree and would pay for a Universal or DL type option for FP

These are flights for August (Nashville) and July (United). As in, flights that have not happened yet. Other flights were eliminated and these were merged together.

I've visited Universal parks several times and stayed on their deluxe properties to receive the FP. We loved those aspects of the Universal parks. I would also love if Disney brings back FP and would totally pay for it if they charge or stay on Deluxe resorts to receive it. In two weeks, we will be returning to Disney and haven't experienced non FP yet. We were trying to stay safe from COVID for my parents' sake (they live 5 minutes from us and I take care of everything). Now that the whole family is vaccinated, we feel more secure mentally and will be celebrating my son's high school graduation at Disney. That was his wish as he hasn't had a chance to visit new Star Wars attractions. However, I feel a little worried without FP and all. I guess I'm so used to using it plus the rope drop and night times.

Here’s my thought though. So much is invested in a Walt Disney World vacation, money wise, that I think the majority of people would be willing to pay more to know that they are getting front of the line access from something like fast pass. I don’t think it will work at Disney because most people would pay for it and then it defeats the purpose. So then, here we are paying more for the same thing that we had previously for “free”.

So I'm scheduled to go from CT to FLA on 6/25 then return on 7/3. The original res had me leaving Orlando at 520pm arriving Chicago Midway 710pm then changing planes to leave at 835pm from Midway to Hartford. The geniuses at Southwest changed my 520pm to 445pm into Midway at 630pm with no connecting flight to Hartford. I guess they want me to take a bus home from Chicago.

Still a 120 wait to speak to a southwest rep on the phone as of 5pm today. Does anyone know their customer service hours?
