It is either 30 days or 60 days in advance. It is not 180* nor is it random.

*Except for dinner ADRs, where it is 180.

When I booked it opened exactly 60 days from the date I wanted.

I hesitate to disagree with MesaBoy but it hasn't consistently been anything. Right now a FP+ can only be made through July 7 on the dedicated website, and it has been stuck on that date for some time.

This is frustrating. I am going July 19 and I haven't seen any time available all that week yet.

I have used it 4 times and have never had it open any sooner than the week before. That said once open I always was able to get day I wanted and one trip I even changed it 3 times that week. SO never give up and keep checking right up until the day of!

I believe it was 4-5 weeks before our trip that I was able to schedule our first one (I subscribed to a thread where people were reporting the June open dates on the Restaurant Boards), but I was also able to make a 2nd FP+ ressie on Tuesday, 6/10 (after we used our 1st one) for Sunday 6/15 and actually had a choice of times, so it would seem that they are not too terribly difficult to get?

There are a couple of threads dedicated to this on the Restaurants Board and the belief - although nothing seems to be certain - is that the system is being overhauled.

The rumor is that going forward you will not be able to make reservations until your check in date.

The reservation system "froze" on July 7 and nobody can access dates after that.

We got it around the beginning of April for May 21. Maybe with the busy summer season they are limiting it.

Haha, so as inconsistent as everything else Disney.

We do not mind waiting in line for it as we are going in November and the weather will be fine, but if we could pass on the 30 minute line that would be ideal.

Yes ~ inconsistent is the release pattern! And yes, there are currently no dates available after July 7th. Our travel dates are 7/18-7/28 and nothing has become available for us. Very frustrating. I have read on some other threads where people are getting email invitations during check-in....hoping something will happen, we wanted to incorporate that in to our trip this time.

On the FAQ page of the website, they are calling this a test. For the technical folks its in the "beta" phase. So, expect the unexpected.
I am a little put off they have excluded AP holders from the test but its not a major deal. If we really wanna go we've never waited more than 20 minutes anyway.

Hey guys, please read the other zillion posts....it is not open in july, so of course it is not available for August. Nothing past July 7. There are two LONG threads that you can subscribe to that will keep you updated. It does not help with the frustration, but at least you aren't alone. LOL And you will know when the procedure changes and plan accordingly. Until Disney changes it again....

I've been looking for the week of 8/15-8/24 and haven't seen anything open up.

Quick question...usually it's just the four of us on our trips, but this next trip, there will be 12 of us. When I go to the website, it only gives the 4 of us the option to reserve (although it keeps telling me there's nothing available). I'm assuming that since it's "frozen", maybe/hopefully, when it "unfreezes", it will give the option for the 12 of us. Has anyone been able to change the dining party from one trip to the next (if this makes any sense)?
