FastPass+ at Swan Dolphin President's Week

We are very seasoned Disney travelers and have been able to use the old fastpass system quite to our advantage...I would say 6-8 on any given day (plus some grandparents tagging along who don't do the thrill attractions but we used their FP's). To only use three (which I just learned is fully implemented) is quite disappointing especially during President's week.

I booked at the Swan 4 months ago with SPG points. I have ten day hopper non expiration tickets I bought around the same time. Earlier today I set up MDE. There was an option to link my hotel reservation, I clicked on it and selected Swan from the hotel drop down menu...encouraging. Then I entered the confirmation number for my reservation. I get an error message that they can't match the confirmation number and to call Disney. I call and the rep says that because I booked through SPG, I couldn't get wrist bands or reserve my FP's until I check in, but once checked in I could reserve them for my entire stay. I decide to call the Swan direct and ask them if this is accurate and they tell me no, that they do not participate in FP+ or wristbands and I can only do it the morning when I enter the park. I explain that the Swan is an option on the Disney site and she said she is aware but not sure why they have it when the Swan is not available for FP's.

This is very disappointing to have to wait until each morning (I'm sure this will waste valuable time at rope drop). Also, Disney’s site is very deceiving. If you were to read it you would think the old FP was still available. As it says in many places that not everyone is picked to participate in FP+ at this time.

My last gripe...now in MDE when I click to pick reserve FP+ it says I can't reserve until April 14th 2014. I don't have a reservation after next week?:confused3

I linked my three ADR's and my family's tickets to MDE and downloaded the app. So far, we are very disappointed to have to deal with this during a very busy time. If anyone has advice...I'm all ears. ;)

Just read something on another post that is making me even more worried...since President's week is the first full peak season without the old FP+, I wonder what the availability for same day passes will be? Will I be shut out for premier rides because I can only reserve same day during a peak week?

We just don't know yet. I would think you would need to get to the park early for your best chance. Skip the kiosks in the front and head to locations further in the park.

I was clicking around the FAQs and found this page.

It is interesting that it is so off the beaten oath, but it is clearly using FP+ to promote rooms.

It clearly states at ALL guests will have access to FP+ features in the future. But it sure doesn't commit to what that would look like for off site guests.

I do think it is funny what it says about annual passholders...

"In the future, all Walt Disney World theme park visitors—including Annual Passholders—will be able to use FastPass+ service."

Including AP? Why separate them out? Wouldn't they naturally count as part of the "all"?
