We will be staying at the GF (without a car).
One day (late morning) we will be going from the GF to EPCOT.
What is the fastest way, using Disney transportation, to travel from the GF to EPCOT.

The two ways I know of are...

Disney Bus - GF to EPCOT
Resort Monorail to TTC, then EPCOT Monorail from TTC to EPCOT.

Which one have people found consistantly faster.

Or, are there more ways I don't know about.

You only have option 2.

There is no bus from GF to Epcot. It shows up on some internet transportation wizards as an option, but it doesn't exist.

Well there is another, walk from the GF to the TTC, and take the Epcot monorail. This may not be faster normally, but it takes the resort monorail out of the equation. It is inevitable when you are trying to get somewhere in a hurry and you get stuck on the monorail for 15-20 minutes just waiting.

You could also take the boat from the GF to the Polynesian and then walk to the TTC especially if you are in a building near Narcoossee's. If you time it right, that would be faster than walking.

Ed, I know you enjoy transportation issues as much as I do. On Christmas night, 2002 we were at Epcot for the CP dinner. Our daughter's power chair ran out of power and I didn't want my DH to deal with the ramps at the TTC on our return trip to the GF. So I asked at Guest services and the young CM consulted her manual. It did indeed show a bus from Epcot to GF as well as the other monorail resorts. By the time I finished talking with her my husband already had her on the elevator and up to the monorail so we did not end up finding out if this was still accurate. I've been curious ever since.

It could be that the manual was out of date. It could also be that if a guest were to go to the bus stop, a bus would pick them up. Of course, this was also almost 3 years ago now. But I still wonder.

Well, Tyler has said that there hasn't been a bus for years. I don't remember him saying when it was stopped.

Just thought it was interesting..... :confused3

I can't remember there EVER being a bus from the GF to Epcot. I wish there was one, because it would be worlds quicker than the monorail. And strangely enough, many guests prefer the bus over the two monorails for that particular route because its direct and much quicker.

That being said, on days when the MK closes at 9pm or earlier, after 10:30, Epcot does run buses to the monorail resorts to cover stragglers, since the monorail would have shut down.

And since we were going FROM Epcot to the GF, perhaps that what she was looking at. Except the monorail was still running. I can't remember if this was after Illuminations or not but if it was it would have been immediately after and we did end up on the monorail anyway.
