Wow Minklady. Sorry to say, but you waited until now to present the DIS boards with this lovely first post of yours ? As someone who has no problem staying at a Value or moderate, your words sound pretty darn prejudiced and elitistI have only once stayed at a value resort and will never again return. In my many visits to WDW, I've spoken with many other concierge guests and many of us agree that a majority of people that we've encountered at the value resorts are loud, obnoxious and rather unsavory and the less time that I have to spend in line with those people, the better.
Minklady said:The thought of all this uproar over speculation is ridiculous! That being said, I'd like to throw an opinion out there that I'm sure many have, but don't want to get flamed for....
Should Disney ever change the fast pass system, I will fully support it, especially if it allows more fast passes to deluxe (especially concierge) guests.

Those types are very evident in the parks (like the families that take their homemade sandwich lunches into the parks.....How embarrasing!)
We pay a substantial amount of money for concierge because we enjoy and expect preferential treatment.

And the family on a strict budget, who really want to give their kids the trip of a lifetime, I suppose you just couldn't possibly understand their situation.......Minklady says : Those types are very evident in the parks (like the families that take their homemade sandwich lunches into the parks.....How embarrasing!)

Disagree with your above statement. I don't think anyone would have minded what you had to say about the fact that you feel guests staying in deluxe resorts should have the FP priority perk. Where you stepped over the line for the majority here is stereotyping guests who stay in values as less-than-desirables :Minklady says : seems that those people who believe the way I do about the fast passes really end up getting attacked. I'm assuming that's probably the reason why nobody has come out & posted what I have.

Not only the wealthy deserve to take their families to WDW. I did say "strict budget" in my post. One can be able to afford to visit WDW even if they have to stick to a budget ya know. I think it's the whole reason Disney offers Value and Moderate resorts---to fit budget types of all kinds. For some the food courts for meals works best vs room service and sit-down restaurants. But I'm thinking a strictly exclusive all deluxe accomodations WDW would work best for your needs---then you wouldn't have to hob-knob with the those others.I do have to add that if people's finances are that tight, is a trip to Disney World the best possible way to spend their money?
Is it against park rules ? I'm not aware of this. We've brought in soft sided coolers with sandwiches ourselves in the past. Mostly when my kids were younger and very picky---would only eat certain things. We had our bags checked/inspected and not one CM ever told me it was against policy. I don't feel we taught our children anything wrong by doing this. Also, drinks and sandwiches are allowed in Disney's water parks for sure because we checked on this. We were told as long as we had no glass and a soft-sided cooler it was fine with them. So, if this is written policy somewhere about having no sandwiches in the parks I'd be interested to see it. Maybe I was given the incorrect information or the CM's didn't realize I wasn't supposed to be bringing in a lunch for my kids ? I guess we could start a whole other debate over this because, as you said, I'm sure there are others that feel like you do. But until someone at Disney tells me this practice is not allowed I'm not losing sleep over it. We've never been led to believe we were doing anything wrong. As far as the sandwich people go, I think that there are many people here, of all income levels who would be totally embarrassed to pull the sandwich stunt. Not only is it against park rules, but it really teaches the children that it's o.k. to break the rules.
