Fast pass question

In Feb 2020 I was on Rise if the Resistance , and the ride broke down and we were evacuated just before the park closed.

Guest Services compensated us with a one day ticket for Hollywood Studios that expires 2/28/22.. and an unlimited fast pass for the day. The one day pass is in my app but they said at the time I should show my id when I get there and the fast pass would be issues..

We’re visiting next week. So here’s my question . Given the fast pass system has changed since we were last there what might I expect guest services to honor from Feb 2020? Or should I just not even bother going to guest services?

As long as you have a reference number so they can look this up I'd expect you'd get something that basically gives you a few Genie+ eligible LL experiences to use that day at a time of your choosing. I've never heard of anyone getting an "unlimited" fast pass before - it's always been a set number of experiences - usually 1 to make up for a ride going down after a long wait and 2-4 if there were some larger issues during they day they're making up for. They still have capability to do that so I assume they'd honor it with that but the CM you deal with may have discretion on how to provide something comparable to whatever is listed in the report as what you were offerred. (We actually have a case number from a few years ago for 3 FP+ experiences on our next trip so curious myself to see what they include. I assume it will not include any ILL rides or character meet and greets but would hope it would be useable on everything else. Would definitely appreciate hearing from anyone who had a case file from the FP+ days applied now as to how they translated it from the old to new system.

Do you have anything saying you have an unlimited fastpass? If so, I'd say it's worth talking to Guest Services. They'll probably be able to comp you for Genie+ for the day.

What I have is a card written on Hollywood Studios Guest Relations stationary that says (handwritten):

Photo ID Required.
Two (2) persons - FP+
w/no restrictions -1/person

No “reference number” shown

I think that's an any experience fast pass, which might work at everything but ROTR (and maybe MMRR).

It doesn't hurt to see how Guest Services can honor it.

I'm reading that as 1 per person, so I would think one ride on ROR. How generous to give you a park ticket as well!

Agree, worth checking with Guest Services.
amazing that they gave you a park ticket plus the FP! I would have expected just the unlimited FP.

They do this frequently. The current equivalent would be one Lightening Lane reservation at any of the attractions that have it. It's not unlimited by any means.

Agreed. We have gotten this before. What it means is there are no restrictions on which rides you could use it for, but it is still only good for one ride. This is distinguished from the “multi-experience” pass, which had exclusions for the very popular rides like FOP and ROTR and Frozen.

In today’s parlance, you could gain admission to the lightning lane of an attraction of your choosing.

Thanks all for the input on what to expect! I'm sure I'll learn the new lingo like Lightning Lane during our visit... and my first stop will be with Guest Services to show them what I have. Makes sense its not really unlimited allowing unlimited rides, and agree its nice that they offered this in addition to the one day pass ,. At the time we went ROTR had just opened, it was hard to get on at all , I had to get to the theme park right at 8am and then request from the app in the park and was lucky just to get one of the last rides of the day!

I'd assume they gave a park ticket to go with it since what good is a return to ride RIse if the guest has no additional park tickets?

OP did say they gave a ticket. I‘m just saying that’s pretty generous because everything always a disclaimer that riding is “not guaranteed” with fast pass and now LL. Same with fireworks if you do a dessert party. I’m sure if people complain they try to help of course, but they do cover themselves against this.

Way, way back when Rise first opened, they were pretty generous with tickets + FPs for guests who had to be evacuated when the ride broke down, as OP was.
