Fast Pass Problem

This morning I was up at 5 to get ready for work and make sure I got my fast passes. Well when it came to hollywood studios i got the worst passes. Only toy story mania ! Is there any way I can complain. It took forever to get these passes. System was so slow on my disney experience.

What day of your trip was it? Slinky Dog is hard to get but the rest aren't. It's likely due to the current tiers at HS. With SDD, TSM, AS2, ToT, & RnR all being tier 1 you can only choose one of those.

The later in your trip you can leave HS at the moment, the better your chances of getting more choice of fast passes. When I got mine, I started with HS on day 5 and then made the day 1,2,3 and 4 passes. Still couldn't make a morning SDD but I did get 2pm.

Im trying to get some extra days for my trip in Dec around that same time and the days I already have I was able to to get FP for more then toy story, like Slinky Dog, but I had to get them for the last part of my trip. My Nov trip I couldnt get Slinky Dog at all and Seven Dwarfs was hard as well. Dec was easier. Next time do it like cheryl.UK recommended as well, get the hardest passes for the last part of your trip and start with trying those first (so work your FP backward with the hardest first from the last part of your trip to the first part).

No. This is how it works. DVC doesn't guarantee you special FP.

I would keep checking frequently by modifying your pass (but dont cancel it) and see if anyone cancels their FP for that day and an available slot comes up for you to switch to.

You’re stay is on a very very busy week and it starts on a Sunday so all the people that are coming in on Saturday staying onsite already got the chance to book. Slinky dog is just as hard to get as flight of passage these days. You should’ve been able to choose between toy story midway mania, tower of terror or rock and roller coaster. I’d be shocked that all of those are taken. However, with the new tiers if you already selected toy story it will not let you book tower of terror or rock and roller coaster the same day so those wouldn’t show up once one tier one is booked.

Slinky dog is hard to get even 60 days out. Almost impossible 30 days out. My trip start Nov 30th and wasn't able get slinky dog in the first 4 days. It's just how it is

Yes Slinky Dog for some bizarre reason (let’s face it, it is far from amazing) is difficult to get and you will not get it early in your trip (at least earlier in the day). So if you want it, you need to plan in a trip to HWS later in your stay (and the longer the stay the better), then when the FP window opens, do that first.
I just did mine for Xmas and NY, and this year found the system much faster, I’ve had it before where it wouldn’t even function the servers could not cope. This year was smooth. It’s still much clunkier than it needs to be though (every time you book another pass, having to go back to the select guest screen, no indication of date when you are on the screen to book the pass (leads to confusion), calendar goes back to current date when selecting new date, leading to Fastpasses mistakenly been booked in October rather than December etc argh),
Flights of Passage is easier than it used to be.

I know it is hard sometimes but you will enjoy your trip far more if you don’t focus on any one particular ride/restaurant/parade/show and just enjoy what you do manage to see and do.

I didn’t get slinky or avatar for our trip next month when the window openned. I was on at 7:00 am and both were for later of my trip. So got shut out of both. Tried several times to get one FOP fp, but it’s not happening so far. Dvc has nothing to do with FP system.

I guess I’m confused. You were able to get a Tier 1 attraction for HS. Or, are you upset that you couldn’t get a different Tier 1?

i agree that HS is a difficult one to get FPS for any of the new Toystory land rides. But, as mentioned, keep trying, things can and do change.

But there really isn’t anyone to complain to as FPS are first come, first serve and so certain ones will be tough.

To a 7 & 5 year old it is amazing, I think my girls would have rode it 10 times if they could have.

We rode the Barnstormer 5 times one night, and only didn't go the sixth time because the line actually got backed up.

I don't mean to sound obnoxious here, but you're going the busiest week of the entire year. I don't think there was any error with the app, there were just that many people whose windows opened at the same time as yours.

Best advice I can give you is to keep checking for new passes to open and also check to see if they announced extended hours for during your stay.

You would want to express your disappointment to the Parks division. MS and DVC has nothing to do with FP's. But it's only going to be letting them know you are disappointed. There's zero guarantees on FPs. They're included with admission and that's it.

Sorry but I had to chuckle at this post.

Fastpasses are open to anyone that has tickets. 60 day booking is available to anyone staying at a Disney resort or an "Official" resort in the Disney Springs area. DVC doesn't get any special privileges or access to fastpasses.

If you tried booking on the first few days of your trip, you're competing with EVERYONE who has a long trip booked before you, AND whose end-of-trip overlaps with your beginning-of-trip days. They were able to book FP a week ahead of you for the days you'll be there, because of the way the FP system works. As a PP mentioned, it's better to try for the hard-to-get passes toward the END of your trip.

You can complain, and I'm sure it'll be duly noted, but I would not expect much to be done about it. What you experienced is what everyone experiences in booking fastpasses. If you want special access to FP, I would suggest booking a Club Level room next time and pay for the 90 day access to fastpasses.

You only get 1 tier 1 fast pass. So was TSMM the only one available in that tier?
