Fast Pass Plus Question

Just watched the video on fast pass with Pete and it was excellent.

One Question,

did they ever take on board the option that once you have used one of your three FP+ you get another to choose?

I am thinking about the two tiered parks.

If for EG we get to the Park early having pre booked Soarin (GRP1) and two other GRP2 rides, once we have been on Soarin can we book test track?

and do the fast pass + run out?

I agree with Pete that the idea of being able to sleep in longer knowing you do not have to make a great dash to the fast pass machine sounds a winner, I just wondered if you were likely to get two tier one rides in one day?
thanks as always

Steve

You have to use all three fast passes before you can choose an additional fast pass. Your three initial fast passes must be all within the same park. Fast passes do run out, just like the former paper fast passes did. Popular attractions go quickly. The best option is to choose fast passes for as early in the day as possible, even if you don't use all of them. Then after their time windows expire, you are free to go to a fast pass kiosk to choose another available fast pass. Good luck!

thank you very much, appreciate that

Keep in mind that if you are going to add another FP+ after the use times have been passed, you will need to be in the park where you want to then choose a 4th FP+ for. If you are in the MK in the morning, all your 3 FP+ times pass, and you want to go to HS in the afternoon, you need to then get to HS to choose another FP+.

Thank you, I am thinking more about getting Soarin and test track in one

Best case and because of the way you are forced to schedule them, it will take three hours to burn thru your 3 FP's.

On days when we scheduled FP's as early as possible in both EP and HS, by the time we exhausted them and got to a Kiosk for a fourth, the selections were extremely limited. Think Great Movie Ride and Muppets, or Captain EO and Living with the Land.

I wouldn't count on Kiosk FP's at all - better to schedule your headliner FP's for later in the day and use RD and morning EMH to get to short standby lines for the headliners you want. Or stick around for evening EMH - we did that one night at HS and was able to get thru the RnRC queue multiple times with no wait once the 70 minute SB line dissipated.

Don't think this is the line you want to be in only to find the best you can do is Indiana Jones:

Thank you very much.. Look like get to park early, do Test track via normal queue and then use FP for Soarin

All the best

Thanks for all your replies...

does this work?

I book Soarin and two Tier 2 rides. I ride Soarin and then cancel my two Tier 2 rides, can I then book Test Track straight away?

thank you

Steve

1. Yes.

2. FIRST, cancel the two Tier 2 rides, THEN ride Soarin'.
Next, book Test Track straight away.

Diamond Robo,

Thank you very much,

is FP+ good, bad or OK?

listening to the Dis Board they have mixed reviews.

appreciate you coming back to me

Steve

Whether you think it's good or bad will have a lot to do about how you are used to touring the parks. If you used to blast through attractions by getting 6 to 8 FPs a day and did multiple rides on the same attractions using FP, you will not like FP+

As Robo has pointed out you have to delete the Tier 2 attractions BEFORE you redeem any of your FPs for the day.

Yes, basically as my boys are 16 and 14 they only really like a few of the rides so yes, we used to get to the parks at opening, run to Soarin for EG. Grab a FP, run across and do Test track and then later in the day get another FP for both. its a shame they have put them in two two Tiers.

appreciate you getting back to me. In my honest opinion I would rather pay more like you do for a FP at Universal and have piece of mind that I can get to park when I want and at least go on a ride once or as many times as I want with unlimited. I can see Dinsey's thinking as they want to offer it free but I am surprised they have not considered this option as well

My Sister in law who has an Autistic son said it didn't suite them as they had to change his routine, they go three times a year

In time I suppose it will work itself out

all the best

Steve

Can you tell me what video you are referring to? I'm always interested in new video's to show my extended family - our FP+ window opens on the 21st. Thanks!

We just got back yesterday from a great trip. We loved using the FP+. You don't have to run around the park grabbing paper tickets anymore. It was a freeing experience. We stayed out late and slept in.

The major downsides are the 4th FP availability. Even if you book all morning FPs, there is very little left over. We wound up picking rides like The Great Movie Ride, Tommorowland Speedway, and M&G with Mickey.

However, you may get lucky. One day at HS, we got RNR roller coaster as our 4th, Star Tours as or 5th, and Movie Ride as our 6th.

Good luck and have fun!

Wouldn't (couldn't) "best" case be two and a half hours? Or, depending on distance between attractions, two hours and then or fifteen minutes? Or are you forced to wait three hours to get the fourth FP+, even if the first three have been used in less time than that?

Actually as a PP said, you can cancel all but one of your FPs, then make your "4th" FP immediately after just one ride.

Just read about canceling the two tier 2 attractions, then riding the Tier 1 attraction, and then booking another Tier 1 attraction right away.

Does this have to be done at a Kiosk? Or can it be done on your smartphone?
