Fast Pass Future? Predictions...

Not if it's a hybrid of paid and limited. They could literally use the old system but charge $20 for each fastpass.
That’s the part where they’d lose me, charging a “per”. Do I really want to ride Winnie the Pooh enough to spend $20 on it? No way. Same is true of many rides there. I’d either chose to wait in line, or not ride. But if it’s a flat fee, I’d consider it, if it felt like a good deal.

Completely agree. It needs to be a package. A la carte will be a major let down.

I agree with several OPs that “free” FP is going awaY. For those of you who do not want to pay for FP access since it was “free” before, would you be ok with WDW raising the ticket prices, and then keeping FP “free”? Does it hurt less if it is just hidden in the cost of the ticket?

For me, I would rather the ticket be priced, and then FP be offered as an add-on for those who find it valuable enough to pay extra for it. For those that don’t value FP, their ticket would not be over-priced just to include FP. Disney (or most other businesses) have never been afraid of taking something that used to be free and starting to charge for it, if they thought that it would be net profitable (ie more people would accept it and pay it than would reject it as greedy, and then not go to WDW). Case in point, resort parking.

I love DLR’s MaxPass system, where I can have unlimited FPs stacked all day long in both parks without leaving my room, other than to scan into the park for the day. There is no “one hour” block out like WDW’s FP+ had (this is the main disappointment with the CL extra FPs, since it still limited you to only one FP per hour long window), so you can really stack them up. And there are no tiers, so you just book what is available at either park when you see it. The only thing I would like to see changed about MP is the ability to “modify” a FP to a different time. The current MP system at DLR only allowed you to cancel a FP for a ride and then get a new FP for the same ride; you could not modify it, and you risked losing the new, better time once you canceled it (and then not even being able to get back your original FP time at all).

As a family that has done the VIP tour several times at WDW, there is A LOT of room to charge for FPs before they even remotely reach the price of a VIP tour (ie unlimited FP for 8 hours). At $3500+ with additional tip for the guide, per day for a maximum party of 10 on the VIP tour (more costly, at peak seasons), they are telling us that unlimited FP for 8 hours (not even the entire park day) is valued at $350/person/8 hour day (and remember that you still have to buy a park hopper ticket for the day of the VIP tour, that VIP tour price does NOT include your park ticket). So to think that WDW will charge even close to DLR’s $20/person/day for a FP or Max Pass product is a dream. People keep coming, paying full price for very reduced offerings and very long lines. I think WDW will continue to push the price point and keep the offerings reduced until people stop coming. Based on current fully booked hotel and park reservations, they are no where near everyone’s collective breaking point on price yet. So I expect prices to continue to climb....

My exact thoughts. Anyone who thinks FP pricing is going to be "reasonable" is in for a rude awakening.

There may be some "value" packages, but if you want anything that includes the best rides....it's gonna cost you.

I am fine with that - we have reached a point in our lives when we are looking for an excuse to stop going to WDW. Charging a large fee for FP would give us that, and Universal would get all of our park money.

I know most on these boards know it's best to stay at a Premier hotel to get the EP included. But the a la carte EP pricing for spring break at Universal is over $300 pp.

We have never paid anywhere near that to stay on site at Universal. And their annual passes are very inexpensive. But we don't go to Universal during spring break.
