We will be vacationing in Disney the first 2 weeks of June this year. This will be our first trip with Fastpass +. I understand that I can't get additional fastpasses until I use the first 3, but what are the odds this time of year to actually get a fastpass we will use? Currently I have most of our fastpasses booked 10:30-11:30, 11:30-12:30 & 12:30-1:30. As I run my itinerary thru the touring plans website, it appears most of these fastpasses are not needed, especially in Animal Kingdom, So I am wondering if I should redo them for the afternoon....
Just wondering what you all have found to be the best strategy in the early summer months.

After I look at when and where we have ADR's booked, I usually plan out a schedule of which parks we will be at and then book FP+'s accordingly. If there is a ride which usually runs out of FP+s quickly, I definitely plan the 3 FP+s around that park, regardless of whether it's in the morning or afternoon. I usually don't choose the 3 FP's for AK morning because have never had a problem getting right on most of the rides there. If there is a ride in a park which you want to ride(Toy Story, Soarin, Test Track, Mine Train) in the later afternoon, I wouldn't expect it to be available when you get to the park after using your 3 FP+s in your morning park. By the way...I am old school and really hate all of this planning stuff. Loved the old FP system but have to adjust or not get to ride some of my favorite rides.

I booked our FPs last night and did just about everything in the 9:00 - 1:00 range. The thinking is we can then get more for later. Also, we like to hit the parks hard in the morning, then leave shortly after lunch, coming back around dinner. Booking morning FPs means we can make the FP+ kiosk our last stop before leaving for our mid-day break, and then we'll have another FP ready when we come back.

We've never been to WDW in June, but I'm anticipating needing FPs at lot more than we typically do in April and May, even at 10:00 am.

Nilla, are you talking about coming back to the same park in the evening (making the FP kiosk the last stop before leaving)? We usually go to a different park in the late afternoon/evening and the last time I visited WDW, we had to go to the FP kiosk at the park where we wanted to use our next FP.

I dont see much sense blowing FP in the morning when lines are short so you can get more later. The problem is standing in a kiosk line for 20 minutes then finding out all the FP options are junk. Better to use FP during peak hours, ride SB in AM, then do whatever after FP are used. Dont think you are getting E ticket FP mid day after yours are gone.

Same park. We don't Hop. If you're Hopping, that plan probably wouldn't work for you.

ITA with this. On our December trip, we used all of our FP+s by early afternoon, thinking we could get more. By then, the only rides for which FP+s were left were things that had lines that were short anyway...Dumbo, Under the Sea, Philharmagic, the Laugh Floor, etc.

I only have 1 or 2 days where I could use up my FP in time to get more, but I am not counting on getting anything worthwhile for a 4th. At MK I might get something since there are so many, but at the other parks, it’s almost useless since the headliners will be long gone by early afternoon.
At first I was really bent on getting them early in order to get that coveted 4th and 5th, but I finally resigned to the fact of reality. I would suggest trying to get them early anyway though. Those are harder to get and are easier to change times to later with. If you get late ones, good luck with trying to change times to earlier in the day. At least with the headliners. This will allow some flexibility.

We get their early and use our FP by noon-1. We're not in the parks in the middle of the afternoon so it would be pointless to put them their. We do signature dinners so if we do go back to the parks in the evening we usually get their pretty late when lines are already down.

I have fastpasses for a morning at Animal Kingdom that I would like to change to an afternoon at Epcot. Do I have to cancel the morning passes at AK to be able to see what is available for Epcot in the afternoon?
I am having such a hard time deciding what to do with these silly fastpasses... I really want Test Track and Soarin at Epcot, but since I can only have 1 of those it just seems like the rest are throw-aways no matter which way I do it. I am trying to be optimistic, but I already miss the old system.

AK is pretty useless for FP+s if you're willing to RD. Epcot is a much better use for FP+ because you know you're saving significant time on at least one ride.

I made customized touring plans and got FPs for the stuff that had the longest wait.

I'm attempting to keep my kids on a familiar schedule so plan to be in the parks from RD to afternoon. If that doesn't happen, oh well. It's our first time so I have no idea what's going to work for them.

I'm not sure but I think that you can "change" from one park to another and it doesn't actually switch til you confirm the change. We usually choose Soarin for Epcot's FP+ and do single rider for Test Track. Most times my DH and I wind up sitting in the same car but different rows...but we do run the risk of being sent to different cars.
