Can someone pls explain how you schedule fast passes when you are traveling w children who aren't able to do thrill rides? Should you commit the fast passes only to rides that the entire family is able to do together? If that's the case, then my husband and I will not be able to get FP for any of the roller coasters.

You want to do the "Rider Switch" at the thrill rides.

If there are a number of thrill rides you want to do, you can also use 1 of your fastpasses to speed this up (it will mean only 2 FP for the family but up to 4 thrill rides).

Here's how it works. Get the 2 fastpasses for you all for whatever family friendly rides you want. Use the 3rd fastpass to get individual FP for a thrill ride. But only get 1 of them per ride. So, for example, your third is a FP for splash mountain at 3pm and spouse gets Big Thunder at 4pm. You ride Splash at 3 using Rider Switch (see Robo's link for the details which I won't repeat here) and then spouse rides Splash using the switch pass. You then go to Thunder and repeat.

Benefit to this is you never have to do standby when you're separated. Ideally, after you've done this you'll be able to schedule a few more FP+ as family. If you want to take it further, you can even do thrill ride as the 3rd FP on the kids bands.
