Far too busy to start this sooner

Me too!!!!! I'm so ready to dance!!!!!

:cool1: :cool1: :cheer2: :Pinkbounc

Hey! No fair! Your fun :boat: starts 10 hours and 25 minutes before our fun!! Looks like Jan. 4 will be a great day for lots of people. :jumping1:

I'm so glad I scheduled this trip for this exact time of year. I'm a Lutheran minister in southern Ontario. And this is the week that has been mine around here.
  • funeral for an amazingly eccentric lady who was a witness to so much history in so many ways.
  • massive snowstorm that left my car stuck in axle deep snow 4 times on one day.
  • Christmas Eve worship services x 2
  • Christmas Day worship service
  • Christmas Day family celebrations with gifts that just kept coming through the door.
  • Worship service on Dec. 26.
  • Turned 37 on Dec. 26 :bday:
  • and now preparations for another funeral.

Whew! What a week! :faint: But I got to take part in so much great ministry happening around here and see grand results.
  • a very appreciative family with no previous Church contact found comfort in the words and actions of strangers who are the workers and volunteers that make up the staff of our Church.
  • a seemingly insurmountable congregational deficit will be greatly reduced because generous Church members and visitors responded with love.
  • worshippers at the 4 services from Dec. 24 - 26 were very appreciative for what they experienced as well-planned worship services with hymns and carols they love to sing.
  • my organist's daughter was home from university and wowed the worshippers (well -- I was floored when I heard it) with her rendition of "Sussex Mummers Carol" on the viola. :charac2:
  • my organist told me that my Christmas Day sermon was the best one I've ever preached -- and it was fun to preach!!!

All in all -- a busy week, but so rewarding. What a great lead-up to a week at the Happiest Place on Earth!

:wave2: Tell Mickey I said hi (if there was a little green icon for being jealous, I would have used it here lol)

Wow, you've had a busy Christmas season! You deserve a wonderful vacation, and I hope it is indeed wonderful! :wizard:

hey RoyalCanadian - I remember you from my "we're members" post. How funny - we're gonna be at WDW next week -for so many of the same reasons that you explained above. Won't it feel great to be a kid again, and not have to be the pillar of strength for everyone for a few days? Know just how you feel - ministry never ends, does it? Though it is SO rewarding, boy, does it feel nice to have a few days off to enjoy the Happiest Place On Earth!

The place will be, at the least, somewhat holier for a while during our stay. I will resist the tempation to preach from the top of the High Rock Springs water slide at SSR. Trust me. The only sermonizing that will be happening will be my usual monologue about how great the UG Touring Plans are and how they are saving us so much time.
I now cede my pulpit to my learned colleague from Texas.

And the only congregational song leading that I will be doing will be as I'm skipping down Main Street singing "Zip A Dee Doo Dah!" No "Amazing Grace" next week. No homiletiics - no 3 points - no thinking about the perfect transition between worship elements. Just a little "Zip A Dee Doo Dah" while wearing silly ears on my head!

Have a great time all of you lucky ones who are going so soon!

Bobbi :D

You going to be in the MK 1/5? Remember, that's EMH evening. That sounds like something worth posting a picture of!

I'm not sure about revrob -- but this here Lutheran minister will be at EPCOT on 1/5 after testing the true limits of unlimited everything at HDDR the previous night. I'm not sure my parishioners need to see one more silly photo of their pastor doing something crazy :earseek: (there are already a few posted on my office door), but I'm certain there will be something photogenically worthwhile :smooth: to show when I get back into the office on Jan. 12.
