FAQ about the Disney Dining Plan

One thing about the card that serves as your room card, ticket card, and dining plan card. DO NOT KEEP IT NEAR YOUR CELL PHONE!!! The CM did not mention this when we checked into the hotel. I keep my cell phone attached to my pocket, and I had at one point put our cards in that pocket. Well, we found out that two out of four of our cards were cleared when we tried to get Fastpasses for a ride. The CM at the Fastpass told me it was my cell phone that demagnetized the cards. It took us two tries for the CM at the Front Desk of our hotel to finally get the right count on our meal plan. Thankfully, it happened on the first day, so I was able to tell them what the number should be. If it had happened toward the end of our trip, it would have been a big problem.

Hope this helps!

Oh no, can I keep the cards in the same bag as my cell phone? :confused3 Like in the same fanny pack?

How many credits do I get?
The number of credits you receive is based on the number of nights you are staying at the resort. You must at least purchase a basic one day ticket, but you do not have to purchase a ticket that matches the number of nights you are staying.

So question about this... I tried to search this thread and could not find the answer. If you have 2 rooms on your package will all the credits be pool into one pool or is it for each room?

Hoping the answer is pooled for both rooms.

Each rooms credits are SEPERATE! They do not pool them, sorry. At least they didn't when I was just there. It was four ladies though, not a family with kids....like I assume yours will be. You could call and ask.

Should add, that it doesn't matter if they aren't on the same room card, you still have them and can use two cards at one sitting.

i was there with my girlfriend and my parents..we had 2 rooms and they DID pool the credits, maybe because 1 person (my dad) was paying for all

thanks for that,
and it does appear that Wolfgang puck is not on the 2006 dinner list. We were already looking forward to that dinner.
Has anybody been to the other restaurants that I listed, any comment would be appreciated.

regards,

Mike

Hello--

I recently made ARs for Wolfgang Puck Cafe for 12/7/2005 and was assured by the CM that this restaurant DID use the plan, for table service. (This isn't the most deluxe W. Puck restaurant, but it is the sit-down restaurant and not the CS one). Is the 2006 list that you are referring to the same PDF brochure that's currently available on the Disney site?

One quick question, while I'm writing -- can someone please confirm that TS restaurants that take the plan allow you to order anything for your entree -- that they do not restrict for higher-priced items? I'm looking at the Teppanyaki dinner menu and wondering if the $25-ish items would definitely be included.

Thanks!

Hey all. I'm really wanting to download the PDF Dining Plan file from the official Disney website but it will not open no matter how long I wait. Does anyone have this saved on their computer and maybe could email it to me? Here's my address rachelbrolsma@gmail.com

Thanks!

BLEEPS-- Except for two restaurants noted in the disney brochure, all restaurants taking the plan are supposed to allow you to choose any appetizer, entree, dessert on the menu (except those intended to serve two). But, you may have to be insistent to get what you want.

Thanks Maxiv... I have heard different things on this and we are with my in-laws and we have already payed for everything in my name. We have never done dining before but when booking 2 rooms on one package the same name is on all the keys. One thing I would like to do is have seperate room charges on each room.

you mean charges when you take some drinks or so ? just sign it to the room you want and there you go. i hope i helped you

Thanks so much for the help; I really appreciate it (and am SO looking forward to being at WDW during holiday season!). I'm not trying to take advantage of the program by ordering higher-priced items just for the sake of it, but I'm trying to determine which TS meals to charge against the dining plan and which to pay OOP, and this information really helps.

We ate at Teppanyaki in September on the dining plan. We had no problem ordering whatever we wanted to eat. I know 2 of us ordered the steak and lobster which was very good. Enjoy and don't worry to much the dining plan worked fantastic for us. We had no problems at all!

Oh, thank you so much -- and this is exactly why I love using these forums so much! You were so nice to take the time to share your experience and put my mind at rest -- now I know we'll count on using a TS for Teppanyaki. 52 days and counting....

I do not know the answer to this question for sure. All I know from what happened to me, is that the two cards out of four demagnetized when I had them in my front pocket of my shorts. I had my cell phone clipped onto that pocket. After they were remagnetized, I made sure to keep the card key far away from my cell phone and the cell phone charging stand when it recharged at night.

Ask a CM when you check in. Sorry I could not answer your specific question. I would think that it is not a good idea to have the card key with the cell phone in a fanny pack.

NO. We had our immediate family in 2 rooms, reserved by me, but because there were 2 adults in the party, my dh was on one room and me on the other. The cards were divided between the two rooms, three peope per room.
Quite a pain.
On the other hand, we WERE able to only use one card per meal. They just took off 6 credits instead of 3, and we alternated cards. I have heard this varies by server, but we never had a problem at the 6 TS dinners we did, or any of the multiple CS we purchased.

Teppanyaki - People are reporting on another loop that the lobster is no longer available for MYW Dining participants. I do not know where they are getting their info, but I don't want anyone to be disappointed when they get there if this is indeed true.
