I am torn on whether to do the dining plan and if so whether to do Quick service or basic-the mug would be great for my dad for coffe and my for drinks. I thought I read there was a spread sheet somewhere to help see if it was cost effective? where is it?

Are you purchasing a cash reservation through DVC Member Services? Why not call up Member Services and ask them about the DDP rules for cash reservations?

If you are booking your cash reservation through WDTC/CRO and not DVC Member Services, your DVC member status is irrelevant - your reservation will be just like anyone else's reservation, and the rules and policies for adding the dining plan to regular resort reservations will apply (must be a package with tickets unless you are an annual passholder or eligible for the military room discount).

The pepper market charges an automatic 10% gratuity, correct?

Is this automatic gratuity covered by the QS credit, or is it an OOP charge?

If you're on regular DDP, yes you can buy a mug. They cost about $13 apiece.

We have reports both ways - some are charged it and some are not. You probably ought to be prepared to pay it.

Can you do QSDP for part of your stay and the regular DP for the rest of the stay? If so, how would that work? We received a pin for free QSDP but are considering upgrading but don't really know if we want it for the entire trip.

You can but you would have to split your reservation into 2 separate reservations. You cannot have 2 different dining plans on the same reservation.

Taxes are included in the cost of the dining plan. You would not pay extra tax on any item you purchase on the plan, but you would if you purchased anything that is not covered by the plan.

We are going to be on the quick service plan on our next trip instead of the regular dining plan. My son has many food allergies and unfortunately many of the kids meals at counter service places are things he is allergic to (mac and cheese, cheese pizza, etc.). I am reading that now they won't let you order more than 2 adult meals if you have 2A2C on your card. Is that correct?

You should contact Disney Special Diets about what you might be able to order for your son. Contact information is on the DISAbilities board. The DIS does not advocate using child credits to purchase adult meals, as it is a violation of the written policy of Walt Disney World regarding the dining plan. You could also register your child as 10 years old, buy an adult ticket for him and put him on the adult plan.

AP holders can book a ticketless package with dining - but it is a package, not a room-only reservation, and it follows the same deposit, payment and cancellation rules as other MYW packages.

Hi! I am new so please forgive me if I am asking a question that has already been answered.
I have an AP and in the past have booked trips to WDW without the DP. Because I didn't want to pay for the DP only to find I could not get the ADR's I wanted . I would then add the DP onto my reservation after I found out if the ADR's I wanted were available and pay my bill in full, or if they were not I would go without the DP and pay out of pocket for any ADR's. No problem.

When I called WDW DINE today a cast member informed me that none of the reservations I have would hold should I add the DP onto my reservation now! They would have to be re-booked subject to availability, per a new Disney policy! I just don't understand, they have a spot reserved for me if I pay cash but not If I use their discount meal plan? Are the # of tables available for people paying out of pocket now different from the # available for those using the DP?

Now I am at a loss as to what I should do, I am going April 12-22 and it took me a few weeks and allot of persistence to make my ADR's and I was very lucky to get them. There is no way I will be able to secure them all over again. If I go without the DP it will be way to expensive. Any Advice? Other than the obvious "book at least 9 months in advance and pay in full right away!" lol I know I should book earlier but I have to wait for the AP prices to come out to know where I can afford to book.

If you do plan to make that many trips in one year you should consider getting an annual pass instead.

We did consider that, and priced it out for APs. But since our fall trip is still a maybe, we have better flexibility with the NE PH tickets. The per day price is better, if we can't make it back until Jan. And we WILL be back after Jan, so it's a win-win.

And we decided to go back to the QSDP, with only a couple of OOP TS during our trip. It fits our needs better... I'm glad they came up with this option!
