FAO Schwartz

Does anyone know if there is an FAO Schwartz in Orlando now that the Pointe Orlando one has closed down?

It was one of my favourite shops!

Sorry, think the answer's no. I was gutted last year to see it closed. We took the obligatory pictures of the teddy and doll anyway but I was really looking forward to going in it and I couldn't.

It's such a shame.

It was one of the best places to shop in Orlando!

The one in Vegas is great too, but I'm gonna miss the Orlando one when I go in a couple of weeks.

I was shocked to see it closed. Anyone know why it shut down?

Apparently they went bankruped Or so we were told by the hotel staff.

We saw Schwartz in New York having a clearout of stock in December 2003 before finally closing the doors shortly thereafter.

We've not long come back from Orlando and stayed close to Pointe Orlando. FAO Shwartz is virtually demolished, the only part really left standing is the big red 'FAO' toy box that wrapped around the top of the building but even that was quickly disappearing towards the end of the holiday.
The whole of Pointe Orlando is undergoing a major refurbishment due for completion in 2007, theres alot of shops closed down there at the moment.

I should have took some photos but never got round to it.
