I'm disappointed that you're intentionally giving website traffic to a website that knew to have it's photographers onsite prior to 9am to photograph the location but at the same time didn't inform its followers of the soft opening schedule which they obviously knew about beforehand.

It's all about getting the scoop and site hits for ad revenue, not sharing accurate or timely information, and you're feeding into that.

And if they had posted and bet you would have whined even more

I don't understand this comment. That site has been tracking the FLE all week keeping everyone informed of what has been happening. What if they would have claimed a soft opening today and it was delayed? Also, kennythepirate had something on his site and then it mysteriously vanished. Perhaps they were asked by Disney not to divulge the information. Who knows???

We got to do Enchanted tales with Belle when we were there for the Ten Miler. We asked the CM at the construction door if we could go in and he said yes. This was weds 10/3. I know people had been let in days and weeks before as well. You had to know to go ask. We met a family who had asked tons of cm's at different attractions (philharmagic, pooh, peter pan) and they all said nada, knew nothing. When indeed if you knew to ask, you were golden.

We have a ressie for BOG for the Princess half!!!!!!

My sister and her family got in too! 3 of her 4 kids were picked to participate too. We knew to look for the CM at the door and every time we were over there, no CM. Congrats on your BOG ressie! We are doing the Dream cruise in May and plan to visit MK then for a day. I'm going to try for BOG for that. I'm so wanting to do the Princess for the 5th. I said after TOT I'm never putting myself in a position to be that close to the sweepers again so until I can be sure I can distance myself from them no matter what the race conditions are, no Disney race for me. I'm not sure I can improve my pace that much by then. I'm so tempted though. On the other hand, as awful as those race conditions were, I'm pretty sure I would have a much better race.

I did hear about Oct 12 being the target date. Not sure where I heard/read it but it definitely was a date being tossed around out there. Also, just because they were invited in for a photo shoot doesn't mean they knew for sure that guests would be allowed in as well.

It's different to open an attraction versus an area. This area needs tons of staff to be open - it's been scheduled to open today for at least a week or two on Disney's end, as they'd have to inform the staff and support to show up and be show ready.

It wouldn't be canceled. Mermaid may close, Belle's greet may close, but the shops and dining wont unless they have scheduled events. That's simply not how Disney works. The CMs are scheduled to work there.

And if a site takes information down because Disney asks them not to post it - wich I doubt is true - there's the bigger problem of pretending to be a third party when in fact it's just an extension of Disney's PR machine.

Employees had been scheduled to work the opening at least twice that I know of. It was cancelled both times. Once because workers weren't done working and once because they couldn't get enough CM schedules switched to cover it.

And since you're all sitting safely at home reading this on a computer..

You don't feel the least bit bad for the family who wanted to see new Fantasyland but who is over at Epcot or Studios or Animal Kingdom oblivious to the area being open because these websites - who knew it would be open - didn't post the information?

But those were canceled in advance, not the day of.

This was "going to happen" and solidified as of earlier this week.

This comment is completely ridiculous sounds to me like you are just pissed that you aren't there. We all use all of these websites for information from time to time and the fact that you are complaining that we are getting news to ridiculous. If you dont want to look at the pictures then don't but don't attempt to ruin the excitement for the rest of us that aren't there today.

I don't feel bad for the AT ALL! That is what is awesome about a soft opening like this. If you happen to be there and you get to go in it is a surprise and re-kindles that disney magic. And who are you to say that all of them want to know or care to know or would even show up! The ones that are there are lucky today and good for them.

I would love to see the menu and prices for Gason's tavern. Curious to know the price of the brew in the special belle or gaston mug! :)

Disney Parks Blog has the menu and prices.

The Le Fou Brew is $9.99 with a souvenir cup and $4.99 with a regular cup.

You don't really "get" soft openings, do you?

How unfair of Disney to advertise the official opening date as December 6th when they clearly knew it would be open before then! Scandal! Outrage!

Do you know this first hand or just assuming? If first hand, did you post about it happening???

Anyway, why the anger? It's a soft opening. And if I was at epcot or anywhere in the world, I do still check my phone every so often and may have seen it..

So since this was all firmed up earlier this week, are the continuing it thru the weekend or into next week? Dont keep the info from us, that wouldnt be right.... :stir:

While I am sitting safely at home at this moment, two weeks from this moment I will be on a plane to Disney World. The October 12 date has been floating around all over the web for almost a week. And no, I do not feel bad for anyone at the other parks today. They are not being conspired against. I'm sure they are enjoying whatever it is they are currently doing.

Do you think they'll continue soft open all weekend?

My sister and her family are about to arrive at the parks any minute. I'd suggested that they hit Epcot first, because it's open later tonight. But, I'm debating about telling her to head straight over to MK and take advantage of the soft open... I'd hate for them to be so close and then miss it!!!!
