2 months is still a pretty good amount of time to start anything. A facebook page would make it easier to organize the t=shirts for example. We would actually know what we all look like beforehand so it would be easier to meet people on the ship even if they dont come to the meets. Which is what I thought a "cruise meet" thread was all about...meeting new people.

It seems to me that if you cant control it you dont like the idea right away.

Excuse me - I said it was "Just my opinion" so I was in no way trying to control it. The owner of a Facebook group, however, DOES control it!

No one is stopping you from starting anything on FB.

Since you asked. I personally find trying to keep up with two threads a bit too much work. FB doesn't work for everyone as they aren't all on it. Then trying to keep track of who is who makes it more work.

However, by all means feel free to start one though. Those who want to use it will. Those who don't won't. Simple.

OK...we know what Sherri and Holly look like (did I get your names right???) because they have their pictures in their avatar or signature. I'll be the first to post my picture here...anybody else want to follow suit?

this is me and DH about a year and a half ago. I will post a picture of my kiddos later (I'm late for work...darn you Disboards-I HAVE to check things before I leave..<sigh>)

If anybody decides to do a facebook page-remembering that not everybody on these boards facebooks-and would like to friend me/my DH/my kids...our FB names are:
Kelley Flannigan Hardy (profile picture is me in a red dress wearing a tiara & a boa)
Patrick Hardy (profile picture-at least yesterday-was me & DH in college marching band)
Victoria Nicole Hardy (you may not get a response from her for a while as she has had FB taken away for a time period)

Yep - You got the names right, although I spell it "Shari" because my actual name is Sharon.

Hey I'm not sure if my last response posted, so I'll go for it again!!! Sometimes those iPads can be trickery devices!!! Anyway, I love the idea of having a Facebook page for this cruise. 9 weeks is plenty of time!!! There are still people that are going to book and people that have not found this page yet!!! Facebook pages are a easy way of creating sign-ups for meets, fish extender info, t-shirt info, etc. the same way that there are people that don't use Facebook, there are people that don't use the disboards a lot or use them at all but instead here about these meets through friends that are on here!!! Long story short....let's do a Facebook page!!!!

Facebook works for me! It is always easy to use and get to via my phone. I travel alot for work and when I am in a office, I always end up on conference calls involving me sharing my desktop so I tend to stay away from surfing the internet and I always end up playing on my phone to keep me busy. I would love to read up and dream about my vacation while pretending to be intersted!

This is DD Katharin. She is 11-almost 12 at the time of the cruise.

This is DD Victoria. She is 17-we board exactly 1 month prior to her 18th birthday. She is seen here with her very most favorite dessert

The only good picture I can find of DS Aaron has my sister in it and Photobucket is NOT being cooperative when I try and crop her out. Not that I don't love her, but as she isn't coming on the cruise (she would SO not enjoy it-poor soul ) I don't think I need to put her picture on here

Was there a final desicion made on shirt design and color? Also, what will be sizing for kids and adults. It seems that every manufacturer has slightly different sizing. Note that we are not facebookers, so please notify me here.

I know there are several here without Facebook. Although I do use Facebook, I did not join the group so have no idea what is going on there, so you won't be the only one "out of the loop." I can only see the members which are currently 6 people (3 couples), so probably no worries about everyone here "abandoning ship" from the Dis.

krhardy requested to keep all the t-shirt orders here on the Dis, to avoid confusion. I don't know about cruisevirgin, but would imagine she'd continue to manage the FE via PM sign-ups here also. People are still signing up on our cruiser list (DisneyFanDC is the latest sign-up today) on our cruise website, which is where I also put any new info I'm informed about. And anyone here can post a Meet-Up on that site. If momo2080 will inform me of the time she decided upon for the general Meet-n-Greet, I will add that to her listing, or she can resubmit the form.

So hopefully activity will continue on this thread and no one will be locked out of info for this cruise.

Although I also use Facebook, since I come to the DIS for the cruisemeet threads, this is where I prefer to check for info. People certainly are welcome to use whatever means they want, but it will shut some folks out to rely only on FB.

But there will be those of us who will remain posting here!

Sorry. When I looked that was the impression I got. I'm sure the number of people there will increase anyway.

It's just good to see people post here on the Dis, since this thread is what brought those on this cruise together in the first place.

Although I did join the FB group (my DH, DD, and DS don't Dis ), I requested that shirt orders/info remain here.
So...no we did not finalize a design yet. I posted 1 possibility a few pages back, but I am totally not married to that idea-it was just something I came up with quickly to show 1 possiblity. I'm open to other designs, tweeking the one I put up, or most anything else. I suggested putting it on a lime green shirt since that *is* the Dis color, but again-I don't have to have my way. I did fine (through the vendor that I have access to) a lime green Hanes in adult and kids sizes. They will run S, M, L (XS for kids, XL, XXL for adults available too)
The only thing(s) that I am fairly picky about are: 1) I personally do not want to do a white T-shirt...I already (and I'm sure lots of you too) have about a zillion of those and 2) I HAVE to have a final count by March 31 so I have ample time to get the transfers and press the shirts.
We CAN do fitted T-shirts for ladies (although the cost is more and the color choice is more limited) and we can also do dry wick shirts (with the same caviats).
It looks like the final cost will be *around* $10 a shirt, but I'll be able to give a more firm price when I know for certain how many we'll be doing.
