Hello everyone! I booked the cruise a year ago and just found your thread. I will be cruising with my DH (Kirk), DD (Sammy) girl, age 7 and myself, DW (Tracy). We are from Denver, Colorado and this will be our first cruise.
A friend of mine told me to try to find the FE exchange. I have been trying to get a note to Cruisevirgin, but can't figure out how? It said I didn't have enough post to send a message. So, Cruisevirgin count us in!
I am also interested in the "seeing other rooms and showing off our room". I will be on deck 5 with an oversize balcony, family room.
Can't wait to meet you all.

Are you able to access all the rooms even the conciere level?

You can leave the FE gift with Guest Services and specify the room number and it will be delivered to them in Concierge.

Presently, unless there is someone in Concierge who signed up with cruisevirgin for the FE but did not sign up on the website cruiser list, I don't believe any of us in Concierge on this cruise are participating in the FE.

The doors on the ships are magnetic. Disney requests that no tape or adhesive be put on the doors due to paint damage (there is a sticky thread about this). But, since the doors are magnetic, that is not a problem. You can purchase the magnetic printer sheets from any local office supply store, and design your own decoration. Print them out, and voile...instant door decoration. We have done this in the past, and it really helped our kids to find their room. Some people really go all out for this...we don't. We generally do 1 standard 8.5x11 sheet per door, and a magnetic white board. The white board is invaluable since we have 2 rooms. Our kids are older and are allowed to come and go, as long as we know where they are. Since I don't want to chance losing the Wave Phones, the white boards work great for our family.

I'm not naming names because they can reveal themselves here IF they choose, but I am happy to say we've had our first "sign-ups" to join us for our "Breakfast with Duffy & Shellie Mae," which will take place at 8 a.m. at Royal Court restaurant on Monday, April 30th.

So far we have myself and my Duffy, Holly and her Shellie Mae, and two more adults with their Duffy. Current count: 4 adults, 3 bears.

If you are bringing a Duffy or Shellie Mae and would like to join us, please send a PM to "taswira" with the number of adults & children and the number of bears. Should be FUN! Thanks!

Welcome! And never apologize for questions here. That's what the boards are for - helping you have the best cruise ever!

As far as the FE goes, you give a gift to each cabin on the list. It is entirely up to you as far as what you give. It can be one gift per cabin (we gave a personalized photo album with some candy for the kids on our first cruise), or some people give items to each person in the room. Check out the homemade FE gifts thread. I find it easier to get to if I google "homemade FE gift" rather than search disboards for it. Keep it simple and don't get overwhelmed by some of the time consuming gifts that people make. There are some AMAZING gifts that are given as well as candy, dollar items, pencils, pens, etc. It's all in fun!!!

Thank you for the information. I will google "FE gifts" I am not that crafty. My daughter is really looking forward to leaving things in people stockings and so am I. I think it will make the trip even more memorable.

You may choose any day or time to deliver FE gifts. Some people tie their gifts into a theme such as pirates and then deliver on Pirate's Night day.

Hmmm . . These are "Disney" bears. "Duffy the Disney Bear" has an official page on Disney's WDW site here and an official Facebook page for him here (with over 44,000 "fans"). I do a little Facebook page for him here where you can also see photos of Shellie Mae (his girlfriend - lol), who is only available in Japan. In Tokyo, Duffy & Shellie Mae are at least as popular as any top Disney characters, if not more so. There they have HUGE amounts of merchandise that quickly sells, meet-n-greets for him with lines longer than you'll ever see here, and even stage shows. Here at WDW he has his own gazebo at Epcot, with the adjacent shop where you can purchase Duffy in various sizes, from BIG down to a Duffy on a keychain and "magnetic paws" Duffy, plus numerous costumes for the standard 17" bear.

While I'd like to be able to say yes to your request, it is meant to be "Breakfast with Duffy & Shellie Mae" with only THOSE plush characters, as a "just for fun" meet, but also a bit of "promo" for these DISNEY characters. So unfortunately, I'm so sorry but non-Disney bears are not invited. If you go HERE on the Disney Store, you can purchase a 17" Duffy for $30 or the 12" "baby" Duffy currently on sale for $9.99 (usually $15).

Hi Kirk & Tracy and welcome to the FE exchange! I have you on the list and I can send you the file if you send me your home e-mail address (once you can PM me.) For the exchange, everyone on the list buys/makes a gift(s) (once) for everyone else on the list. Gifts can be of any value - dollar store to home-made. Gifts can be delivered any time of day, any day of the week. So far we have 12 families participating, but I understand that this number can get to 40 or 60 cabins. If this happens, I may separate the list into two so it's not too overwhelming (or expensive) for folks.

If you have any more questions, don't hesitate to ask!

I have some questions about how the FE works. Do we each get assigned a room to, "buy for" and leave them a gift everyday? Or do we buy gifts for each person on the list (1 or 2) items? Is there a certain day that we leave the gifts?

Sorry for all the questions. I can't wait to play and want to start getting things now.

Anyone else? Check your stuffed bears. You just may have a Duffy the Disney Bear and not even realize it - LOL.

Also, while the breakfast gathering is only open to those bringing Duffy or Shellie Mae, we also have a meet-up on formal night (time to be announced) at Ooh La La. All "plush pals" are welcome at that one, but it's in the adult district.

Since I don't have kids, I am not sure if they also have this on the Dream as I did not go to D Lounge, but ...

Unless things change, the Disney Fantasy will have a "Dancing with the Characters" night at D Lounge.
