Fantasy or Dream pass? 2015 blackouts?

Hello everyone, long time no see :wave2:

With just over 6 weeks to go until our next (long awaited) trip, I'm getting stuck into planning.

4 of us are travelling - my parents, my sister and I. We've booked for 2 people at the HNY but will all be staying in the same room. My sister and I will be buying APs.

Trying to decide whether to buy Fantasy or Dream passes - obviously it would be great to save money. There's a blackout day during our trip but we were planning to spend a day in Paris so could just do it that day.

Does anybody know when the blackout dates would be in 2015? It would be great to know before buying Fantasy passes so we could see whether they're going to be prohibitive next year.

Right now I'm leaning towards still getting a Dream myself for the extra discounts, but my sister is a student and keen to save money if she can.

if you're staying onsite, AP blackout dates are overridden by your hotels ID easypass, so I'd just go for Fantasy APs - or even Franciliens if you have time to order them in advance from DLP through the post before you go - heres the thread you need to give you all the information about that :) -

You don't need to worry about blackout dates when staying in a Disney Hotel. Your Hotel Easy pass allows you to use all the AP's on blackout days and to use EMH's. I've just ordered Francillian passes for our October trip following advice on ThBa's thread. (Hoping they arrive on time:eek:) Although others have reported a quick turn around, so that sounds positive.
If you're thinking of an off site visit later in the year it might be worth the upgrade. Dlp guide is good at keeping up to date with blackout dates and has lots of AP advice:thumbsup2

Oh wow! That's an amazing thing to know.
Fantasy passes all round then I think and saving 40 euros each - thank you for the quick and very helpful replies

Going to stick with Fantasy rather than Francilien as we want to make use of some discounts that will make it worthwhile - Buffalo Bills on this trip, and hopefully Halloween parties next year. Also would be a bit worried about ordering now as its less than 2 months til our trip and the thread says you should leave 2 months to be sure :)

you can just wait until you get to DLP to buy your Fantasy APs - they have no non-contractual dates so once you buy them they are good to go straightaway :).

Perfect! Great to have this decision made.
Can we book our Buffalo Bill tickets in advance over the phone and get a discount when we get there? Or would I need to wait til we have the passes and book in the village? Thanks for all your help :cool1:

yes you can - you just tell them you will be buying your APs and will have them before you go to the BBWWS show. Is the AP discount better than buying the BBWWS show tickets from the French (isle de france) site though? You don't have to be a French resident to buy those tickets, you print them off at home.

You will get a 20% discount with your Fantasy on the regular BBWWS tickets:

59.90 € minus 20 % = 47.92 € for an adult

The "Billet-Malin" tickets for an adult are 37,- € so they are cheaper !

So I would use them. If you have problems buying them online here is my little "How to" at #3

Thanks that's really helpful. Doesn't look like Saturday night tickets are ever available at this great price but I'll jappily readjust plans to save over 10 euros each. Tickets aren't available for 17th November yet so I'll check back soon :)

Just to add to this I posted mine registered on 12/9 and received them on 26/9 so the turn around is very speedy. It may be an option for you guys to save having to queue at the AP office in 6 weeks time. Will you pleeeease do a TR? Could really do with a Lola TR :thumbsup2:goodvibes good to see ya back on the dis

This morning I clicked the first option which only has tickets til 11th November, but you're right, the second option goes right through until March. I have booked 4 tickets for 6.30pm on 17th November for just EUR42 each - thank you SOOO much for helping us save money! I love this forum :cloud9:

Oh wow that is a fast turnaround! Might have to think twice about Francilien passes after all.

Don't worry, we will definitely do a trip report. It feels like so long since my last trip (18 months) that I'm itching to write one :rotfl:

I was worried about ordering our Francilian AP's through the post close to our trip (6 weeks) They arrived today 10 days after posting :cool1: Same discounts as Fantasy and as we are staying onsite no need to worry about blackout dates :thumbsup2 I followed ThBa's advice and it worked perfectly pixiedust:pixiedust:
