Fantasy March 2-9, 2013 Western Caribbean Meet

:cool1: We are in room 8140, with myself, dh, dd (5), ds (7) and my mom

let me know if we made it on the list?

Thanks

Aww shucks, you didn't make it onto the list :confused3 I just realized that you said you just booked at the last minute. I can start another list if you'd like, because there may be some others who'd like to join but weren't able to do so. Would that be an option for you?

Cruise documents arrived today :yay: :woohoo:

Just need to have the Magical Express tags come and we are ready!! (well, not quite on the FE, but getting there)

Yay!!! It's getting closer! We're almost ready. Working on magnets and then our t-shirts for embarkation and pirate night. Which Disney resort are you staying at?

We'll be at the Hyatt MCO the night before. Was trying to squeeze in a quick trip to the World but hubby's work schedule isn't allowing it this trip. So when we land at 2:00, we'll be heading to Downtown Disney and Disney Quest.

We fly out on a red eye 2-28 (DD's idea), arrive about 6 am  So a full day at a park.
We're staying the night of the 1st at Old Key West.
Then we go back to Wilderness Lodge Villas for 5 more nights :yay:

We just got DD's magnets done today. I already had a bunch, so I think our door is all set.

DH and I leave Monday for a few days away and then we go to Las Vegas for a few days the next week and then it will be really close!!

If I wasn't traveling with such a large group, I'd definitely do Disney the day before. I know we're going again later this year so it doesn't bum me out too much that we're not going before the cruise or after (at least that's what I keep telling myself, LOL).

We had a lot of magnets too (well the ones we use as fillers) but the rest of them are usually tailored to our itinerary and then some of them I put our stateroom number on them in case they decide to "walk away".

Vegas sounds awesome! I've booked so many clients on Vegas trips for this'd nth and next month that it's crazy! I'm hoping to go in December to celebrate my 30th. Haven't finalized anything yet.

I'm so looking forward to meeting you and everyone else. I think we're going to have an awesome cruise!!

I just hope I can enjoy it the day before. I can't sleep on planes, so I will be stumbling around. The excitement will keep me going for awhile, but then I will fade.

When are you going to WDW later this year?
We were just there in Nov and DLR in Dec (and go back there in April)......never too much Disney!!

We live about a 6 hour drive from Las Vegas so we go every couple of years. I am not a gambler, but love the shows and the shopping.

Yeah I can never sleep on planes. I don't really like flying at all but it's the quickest way to get to the places I wanna go (sometimes the only way I'll get there, haha).

I wish I could do more Disney! I'm seriously trying to convince hubby to move closer to Florida. We're going back in September and I really can't wait. We were going to try to go back in December again because we love Disney during that time of year but since it's a big birthday for me, we were thinking of celebrating just adults only. Although I'm strongly considering being a kid and being able to spend my birthday at my favorite place in the world would be awesome. Hmmm, lots of decisions to be made.

I don't think I would like to live in FL......don't like the humidity.
But we go fairly often.
Next trip will be Jan. 2014 for my big birthday. We will stay for 2 weeks, most likely, as usual.
We alternate between WDW and DLR. So this is a DLR year, but we are sneaking in that short trip with the cruise. DD and I haven't been on a mother/daughter trip in several years. We're really looking forward to it.

Is there an official met set up for the group? I might have read, but don't think I noted it :(

See, that's what everyone keeps saying. We've never been in the summer. Only between September and March so we haven't really experienced the humidity.

I can't wait until I'm doing mother/daughter trips with my DD. I mean we do things together just the two of us but never have we gone on a trip alone. She's 6 so I'd better get to it :-) She loves when it's just us girls.

As for the meet, right now it's set for 3:30 in D-Lounge. Will that be a good time for you?

My first 2 trips were in Aug...........and it was horrible. We have gone in June a couple of times and it is hot too, but now that we usually go just the 2 of us, we can go as little or as much as we want and hang out around the resort a lot.

I started taking DD on weekend trips when she was about 6. We would just go do things close by, but stay over in a hotel for a night. It was a lot of fun.

3:30 should be fine. I don't think we have anything to do.
I don't know what time we are arriving yet, but it has to be before that!! ;)

Okay, I've got a quick question; if you landed at 2:00 PM in Florida, would you still try to go to Disney World that day?

Depends on how much energy you have ;)
I would be too tired, but then my flight is 6+ hours.
If you did it, to be cost effective, I would stay until the park closes.
And how would the kids do?

I would probably just stick with the plan on going downtown.

I'm not sure how much energy I'd have but I could hang (our flight is only 2 hours). My kids are troopers for sure. We've been doing 10-12 hour days at the park every year since they were 3 and 2. They LOVE Disney. And we would definitely stay until closing since we'd be landing in the afternoon.

I'm thinking that we may just have to stick with Downtown Disney too, just because of all of the "ifs". I wish we could have made a reservation at Chef Mickey's but the only available time is 9:05 and I'm not entirely surely we can just wait around that long before eating dinner. Guess its a good thing we already have a planned trip back to Florida this year.

I guess it is up to you.
Sounds like you want to. MK?? Is that where you would go? How late is it open.
Assume you won't get there until at least 3?? Seems to be plenty of time.

I would still do downtown, but that is me.
We are eating downtown that night..............T-Rex.

It's just the thought of being so close and not going. I guess I'd better get over it, haha. I think we will stick with Downtown Disney.

I know..........We're staying at a DLR hotel before a cruise next year and won't be able to go to the park. Downtown is better than nothing. At least it seems Disney.

Wow lots of activity on here! I can't wait to do a daughter-mom cruise or any vacation. DD is 4 and I have a super clingy 18 month old (actually laying on me now!) so need to wait until I can leave him more than an hour or two. :). I don't want to wish them to grow up so fast but I love the fact you can do that with them. I hope DD will still want to do that with me. :). Kateesha, are your kids into characters? What about a Chef Mickey reservation?

I know what you mean Melissa. I don't want mine to grow up too fast either but I am looking forward to doing things like mother/daughter trips. I was telling her about it last night and she got so excited and wanted to go somewhere just us last night! I'm so happy that she was thrilled with the idea. Of course, my son pouted his lips and asked why couldn't all four of us go. I told him he'll get father/son time and then we'd switch so he'd have a day with just me.

My kids love the characters. I wish I had thought to do Chef Mickey's earlier. The only time available is 9:05 and I'm not sure if I want to wait that late. I'll have to talk about it with hubby :-)

Just a quick hello and I requested to join Facebook group too. I decided fairly spur of the minute after an ice storm a few days ago that I was tired of cold weather and needed a disney cruise :) So today I booked for mar 2 western (my 3rd disney cruise). It's me (Melissa 47) and my DS (Will 24). Can't wait!

Welcome to the cruise Melissa!!! I'm glad you're joining us! Ice storm? Cold is definitely not my favorite time of the year. I think a lot of us are ready to get away from the cold.

This will be our 3rd cruise too! We were just talking about mother/daughter and mother/son trips. That's awesome you're cruising with your son!
