link, Just saw that VGTs are available for our cruise again. I think I remember (but my brain is soooo old I could be wrong), that you were thinking about these earlier but then they vanished. Just thought I'd let you know.

There is a great thread about WL found here:

http://www.disboards.com/showthread.php?t=2778033

They are amazingly helpful and friendly, especially wdwkook. From this thread I have learned where the renovations are, when they should be done, where to request a room. Requests aren't guaranteed but the renovations are being done right with nice buffers between rooms and construction.

POR RR is what we changed from. I was worried mostly about transportation from the resort. Buses tend to be very busy at POR. All of my ADR's where near the Magic Kingdom and Boatrights doesn't serve breakfast anymore. Lastly Wilderness Lodge will be new to all of us. Good luck with your decision!

Were you booking with a pin code? The one I used in February has expired and I am not sure if I rebook that I will be able to get my same deal this late in the game.

Yes I had a pin code. They just transferred the discount from POR to WL. It came out to about $60 extra/day.

Thanks. I spoke to DH and he just wants to stay where we are. We were on the second floor near the restaurant on the dream and it was great going there for breakfast and missing the lines on the upper deck. It looks like the only way I get a verandah is if Disney upgrades us.

We will be spending a few days at the Boardwalk before the cruise and animal kingdom after. We love staying at te boardwalk, it is our favorite and Woody and Peyton have never stayed at AKL. We can't wait for the cruise, it's been a rough week for us, one of my husbands boy scouts passed away last Friday and it's been hard on him and my son so the trip will do both of them some good to get away.

We also are staying at AKL after the cruise. The DGS & DGD love it there with the animals, pool, and the neat activities offered that they participate in.

As a former scoutmaster I can sympathize, I hope all will be well for them by cruise time.

:cool1: doing a happy dance :cool1: The A/C was fixed today and it was just under $200!! Big sigh of relief on that one! We had to replace our fridge about a month ago and that was very pricey, too soon for another big ticket item.

Vacation planning can resume...

Stay away from appliances that have computer boards ,we had to replace our stove, dishwasher and fridge all at one time due to a power surge wiping out the computer boards ,needless to say new appliances have none.

Jim, wasn't the replacement covered by homeowners insurance?

Big day today, Noah has 2 lacrosse games over by Milwaukee. The team they are playing has a turf field, our team has never played on turf before. It's a beautiful day for the games and a picnic between the games.

Still waiting for some of my FE supplies to arrive...hope they come soon! It's exciting to say we go on vacation next month!!

Finally, 1 month or 30 days or 720 hours (err let's forget about that last one, it sounds too long!) we will be setting foot in WL for our first ever stay. It is unbelievable how much a change of resort has charged me up for the pre cruise part of this vacation. This also means only 40 days until the cruise!

So excited - we just went and purchased snorkel gear and signed up for a snorkeling class. Class is Saturday evening and we get to try our new masks and snorkels. So far we haven't purchased flippers, we will wait until class and try them out. The shop owner was so helpful in fitting the masks! We each have different ones based on our face shape. Really comfortable and nice. Getting very excited! Under 40 days now. :cool1:

DH has to have surgery this week to remove his gallbladder. First thing we asked the Dr.... Will this affect our cruise???? Thank goodness he said No :banana:

5 weeks and counting. :cool1:

Just booked an IGT yesterday for me and my parents. My first Disney Cruise was on the Magic in '05 with my mom, and I was only 15, so I can't wait to have a family vacation on the Fantasy! Looking forward to hopefully meeting some of you there as well; I've been reading threads on these boards for a while now, and you all seem like lovely and helpful people. :)

The last two times we cruised, we flew down so arrived by either rental car or magical express......
This time, we are driving down and are arriving probably late Thursday night...visiting the space centre on the Friday and then will need somewhere to park the car for the week....has anyone done the park and cruise deal at the Radisson? Any concerns with leaving your car there for the week?
Any other suggestions that are reasonable and have worked well for you?

Thanks!

Counting down the days.... :)

Wishing your DH a speedy recovery! Hope it goes smoothly.

We have stayed at the Radisson and left our car there, no problems. This time we are leaving our car at the park and cruise lot. Since it will be parked for 2 weeks using the cruise terminal lot was just too pricey. We have used the cruise terminal lot and it really doesn't get more convenient than that.

If you chose the Radisson make sure when you call for your reservation you tell them you want to leave your car and get the shuttle service. It's a package deal.

Hope all goes well. It is a pretty common procedure and recovery should be quick if it is done laproscopically.

I think ya'll should purchase some stock in Hobby Lobby. Because I'm their best customer making these FE gifts! :rotfl2:
I really wish I could post pictures of the crazy process. Seriously, it's becoming ridiculous. I want to tell what they are SO bad!!!! :rolleyes1
I'm having my fish extender monogramed today! :woohoo: I WILL post pictures of the final product. I'm very concerned about not knowing my room # until the day of. You guys can't forget to come find my door too! I'm planning on attaching a giant note to everyone's FE gift with my stateroom number and a reminder. Unless anyone else has better ideas? Possibly a Wave phone message? :confused3 I need ideas!

It's getting really close now!

If you have a VGT reservation like me we should find out our cabin # about two weeks before our sailing and then we can post the info here.
