Fantasy January 23, 2016- STAR WARS

Hi!
This will be my family's first Disney cruise. We were sold as soon as they said Star Wars. My husband and son are huge fans. We are so excited and are counting down the days!

Roll call: Lanie, Dirk and Grayson (4)
I'm used to runDisney races selling out in about 2 hours so I was waiting with my finger poised over the last key on my phone to get a berth on this cruise.

Any advice or tips for debarkation day... Traveling with 3 kids, luggage, and a car seat.... Flight doesn't leave until 7pm. So we have some time to kill. Any suggestions that won't cost a killing? And for anyone that has done this before... What is the usual debarkation time (I know they start at 7:30 but looking to see what people usually do) and how long it takes to get on the shuttle to the airport? Thanks!!!
It is quick to get on the shuttle. First you go through customs which is a document check and security checkpoint like TSA. If you participate in the predebark luggage pickup all you will have is your carryon/day bag. I'm not sure what time they shove you off the ship.

Has anyone decided where they are staying the night before the cruise? I'm trying to put together a total budget for the whole trip and I can't make up my mind on this one. I keep going back and forth between a value hotel at WDW or the Hyatt at the airport.
If your flight won't get you to MCO by noon or so you will be better off looking at something closer to Port Canaveral. Try allears.net or passporter.com for advice.

I think my husband is looking forward to the Cantina the most. We have been on 5 Carnival cruises and never set foot in the club (we are piano bar people), but I know we will be spending Star Wars night there. Just be aware if you see Han Solo, remember he shot first.
Doesn't matter Greedo's shot was off the mark. they also have a piano bar on the Fantasy, maybe it'll be Star Wars themed as well.

I know what you mean. We have a trip to DL in Sept that we have been planning for over a year and I still wake up most mornings thinking "I wish I was getting on the Fantasy today."
I still have my Star Wars Weekend trip starting May 21, and MNSSHP starting Sep 14. I was to late to get a stateroom for the DVC member cruise in Aug but I'm on the wait list. I've come into some money, brother died last Nov., and want to enjoy it before I kick off.

I didn't know there was a piano bar on the Fantasy. DH and I usually cruise Carnival and we most every night in the piano bar. Love them.

Oops, I just checked and the Fantasy has many bars inside and out but no piano bar.

Hello! My sister told me about this forum. I am so excited to try FE! I'm going to have a hard time choosing what to do lol. This will be my son and my first cruise. I am already planning outfits and door decorations. I am a little sad not to be going to Disney World so I hope this cruise is as fantastic as it sounds. Star Wars and pirates what could be better!
Remember we will be doing both Star Wars and Pirates in the Caribbean. X-wing pilot and my goto pirate.

New job started yesterday - whew!

(In one of the training documents, they used the Disney font - and a colleague and I give each other A Look. It's fun to work with a non-crazy Disney fan!)

Yeah, we're not club people, either, but the opportunity to visit a Star Wars Cantina is probably more than enough reason to join in the rush!

I'm trying to convince my husband to wear a costume. We've been married almost 15 years. He's never worn one, so it's an uphill battle ;)
Costuming just adds to the fun, it's all part of the atmoshhere

You will note that I have changed my avatar to show my home made pirate costume used on the Magic a month ago.

Oh, it's our third Disney cruise. I've never felt out of place not being dressed up, but Star Wars is different and I'm being quite silly with my husband. I think it might depend on whether or not I can get the other husband to dress up! ;) (Sadly, they're busy dealing with some family issues so I haven't been able to coax them to join our roll call here, yet)

Most of my luggage space will be taken up with costumes: pirate and x-wing pilot. I've already printed out my door magnet on magnetic paper: silly x-wing pilot; normal Goofy; Pirate theme add-ons.
