how is it the good the bad and the ulgy... or any others..

I stayed there on a solo trip in September

Good: Cheap, walking distance to the parks (though I took art back a few nights), fridge, close to 7-11 and ABC mart to grab food

Bad:
1) The place was deserted. It was labor day weekend, and I never saw another guest at the hotel. Hotel staff was reachable by ringing a doorbell (office wasn't staffed). Some people might appreciate this, but it was a little uncomfortable as a solo traveler.
2) Breakfast. I am a college student and will eat just about anything as long as it's free. Really bad pasteries and kool-aid style "juice."
3) The room was really dark, the bed/bedding/pillows were old and uncomfortable.
3) The bathroom in my room was located down this really funky, dark, narrow hallway. The shower had lots of mold and was really pretty gross.

I'm on a super tight budget and I'm definitely not picky as far as hotels go- I can sleep just about anywhere after a full day of Disney- but I won't stay here again. There are other budget hotel options that are much better.

Take a look at tripadvisor.com, if they are even listed.

Anaheim Plaza
HoJo Anaheim (only if ent. rate is available)
Motel 6 (not walking distance)
Islander Inn & Suites
Ramada Limited (North of Ball on Harbor Blvd.)

^^The reason I ask is because I stayed last June at Fairfield Inn on Harbor for $90 a night. I've also stayed at Hojos for the Ent rate ($79/night & $59/night) many times in past years, but also in January 2009 for the last part of the Holiday season, and in Sept 2009. They had Ent rates offered almost all year long. I think the key is to book the hotel yourself and keep checking the rates. For Fairfield Inn I got the same rates at hotels.com that they were offering as a non-refundable booking at Marriott.com So I booked through hotels.com (which charge a $10 booking fee) so that I could have a refundable reservation in case the Ent rate opened up. The room type we wanted at Hojos didn't open up for our entire stay last June, so we kept our ressies at FFI and were quite happy with it. I heard of people paying around $80 a night at FFI. So it's totally possible to get a room for less than $100 a night in Anaheim and still be in a decent hotel/motel.

i think we are going to stay at the quility inn on south manchester ave.. it has everything but the hot tub. and i need to ask about micro. and ref.. on site says it is availble for a fee and the other one says they are in room.. need them for medicine..

After you book the hotel (if booking online), call them and ask if it's included in the room you booked. If it's not, let them know you need it for medication purposes. Many hotels let people who need a fridge for medical reasons have it for free. However, there is the slight chance they may ask you to just book/pay for the higher priced room w/ fridge & micro. Honestly, I've never heard of someone needing a microwave for medication; the fridge I've heard of. ;) Here's a thread that has some pictures of the hotel and positive reviews for it, fwiw.
