I thought water at the Cape was cold, until we moved to Oregon! :scared:

Haha, gotta love the coriolis effect. I grew up swimming in the ocean in Washington and Oregon, the Caribbean in February will be a welcome change. And a good twenty degrees warmer than the summer ocean water here.

Funny. I grew up swimming in the ocean in Massachusetts. :beach: The water at Castaway Cay in September was great! It'll be interesting to see what February feels like.

When I was young, dumb, and in the service, we used to hit the ocean in February in Mayport (northern Florida). Cold, but not northwest cold. The Bahamas should still be just above 70 degrees, which is not too bad.

Not bad at all. I think that's as hot as any pool I ever swam in, in New England. :thumbsup2

Yes those temps sound about right.

Nothing better then heading to the Cape in June and jumping in that 66 deg water.:rotfl2:

We go to Block Island every August and 75 is very warm. :confused3

I laugh at myself now, but when we moved here I was told the water was "very cold". Cold, I thought, well, I grew up in New England! No biggie. Ha! I learned quickly. :rotfl2::rotfl2::rotfl2:

That sounds great! I hope we have the same great weather! How about on Castaway Cay? Was it nice for swimming?

This is our third year in a row of sailing with Disney in Feb. Weather has been wonderful and the Swiming at Casataway Cay :thumbsup2.

When we go snorkeling farther out in the carribbean we do wear wetsuits as farther out in the ocean and can get chilly, but plenty of people just jump right in!! :jumping3:

I'm excited to hear all the good reports on the swimming at CC! It should be easy for me...I grew up in Michigan's upper peninsula...no ocean, but surrounded by Great Lakes, which are especially cold in January after having gotten warmed up in a sauna! :rotfl2: We thought it was our own Polar Bear club! :rotfl: DD has only been to the ocean once so far, and funny thing was, it was in Oregon, at Cannon Beach. Even in July, it was COLD!!!! I'm sure she'll love the Caribbean Sea!

Cold water in Cannon Beach in July? That's when the water's at a balmy 58 degrees. I swam there every summer when I was a kid. Took at least 20 minutes before you went numb. ;)

Some of you know that we have a facebook page for the adults in the group. I had a fb group page for the kids/teens months ago but closed it because it didn't take off. Now that time is near I recreated a closed group for the kids so they can mingle prior to the cruise. It breaks the ice and they often look forward to the friends on the cruise they met through fb. They just request to be added to the group. Here is the link

Me and the wife wil be staying at Saratoga Springs Resort the night before the cruise. We will be using ME to the port. Does anyone know about the time when you are picked up at the resort and about what time you arrive at PC. I asked this question when I made the reservations but the CM didn't know.
