**Fantasy Becomes Reality** Group--5/19/2012 (INDEX/ROLE CALL, PAGE 1--ENTRY 1)

So, I take it that you have decided to keep the Bernard's tour :woohoo:? With all us DISers, I think we'll have our own bus :thumbsup2. If we check in together, hopefully they will keep us all together :dance3:.

We have a reservation with Bernard's Tours in St. Martin and Caribbean Sea Safari, Snorkeling and Beach Tour in St. Thomas. Unfortunately full day snorkel and beach has no availability for for our family.

I imagine that Rachel will spend a good amount of time in the Edge (if that is what she ultimately decides). Does she play Draw Something or anything like that where the girls can "meet" each other before the cruise?

The only thing that she plays on line with her friends is Club Penguin.

Sabrina plays words with friends but need to look up her username. Does Rachel play?

Sorry Mati, we never looked into that. How about Club Penguin, they could chat with each other.

Wonder if we can get the girls to meet at the port and decide together? What is your arrival (all of you)? We are staying at the Hyatt MCO if anyone else is there...Mati

Our arrival time is 11:00-11:30, lunch and Aqua Duck, too. Hope to see you there!

I hope girls can meet at 3:00pm and decide what they want to do.

Sorry guys, but it's hard for me to keep up with that speed, can't wait to meet everyone in about two weeks.

Grazyna

What are you most worried about (sane response)? -
Not really a worrier - people can too much spend time & energy worrying about something that hasn't even happened

What are you most worried about (not so sane response)?
Really? See above response - Besides, we try to keep the crazy to a minimum around here - thank you!

More social on the boards or on the cruise? Even steven?
Probably in person - I always follow the boards, but don't always take the time to respond.

Day or night you are most looking forward to?
Finding Pepe's Stateroom "Okay" We're going to leave him a note on his fish extender "Okay" Then we'll finish out the MUPPET midship detective agency "Okay" (It really is the little things:lmao:)

New flavor you expect to try?
Ditto on the Grand Mariner Souffle

So, did your cruise documents get lost? Ours appear to be MIA. They mailed them on the 16th of last month, but we still haven't seen them. Would they let you pick them up in Celebration? I'm afraid we'll be in FL before a reissue would arrive. Did they charge you another $50 to reissue the documents?

So here is the document story- When I hadn't received them and people were posting they received theirs and they live like 5 states away I called my travel agent she was still on bedrest in the hospital. She called DCL who informed her that ours had been mailed on April 4th, by then it has been about 14 days since so they told her "your clients can just print out everything online, and get tags at the port" she told them in no uncertain terms that she has experienced that and when you get to the port and use luggage tags that you fill out there, that the bags take much more time to get to the room and that she wanted them to mail me a new set of documents. They wouldn't resend them to me directly. Because they were lost even though she confirmed our address 3 times, they said it must be a wrong address and wouldn't send new documents to me. They instead mailed them to her home. Her husband then had to bring them to her in the hospital so she could repackage them and address it to me.

She then sent them via fedex since the Post Office (don't get me started on the Post Office, so far they have lost our cruise documents, a check a friend sent me, every month's issue of our copy of QVC's insider magazine, and they delayed a package 3 days in Jacksonville that we sent up to Kentucky to a girl I know who was diagnosed with Stage 4 colon cancer to cheer her up, she died before getting that package sorry for the rant) can't seem to get our mail to us. So they got it on Thursday the 19th, she repackaged them and got it to us a few days later.

Did they charge us for the documents, no. But I have heard others have had to pay for them to reissue documents. Worst case is that you'd get charged but I would call and see if they will send them as a courtesy. If you call tomorrow you might have time before you leave to get them in time.

Sorry for the long and sometimes rant filled reply just fed up with the post office.

Susan: Thank you so much for the information. Question, if you have late dining, what time are the shows? before or after dinner? This is our first Disney cruise. Thank you!!
Just so you know.... Our first cruise was crazy:confused3! We had no clue what to expect. Just take it in all of it. The Disney cruise is packed full of stuff to do and places to be, but if you don't watch out it will be over as quick as it started. Take time to enjoy! Is this your first cruise ever?

:thumbsup2 Definitely agree with this!!! Just as we were finally getting settled and doing our thing, the cruise was done.

My nephew works for a airline and really wants to see the airport /beach on St. Martain. Is their an excersion? Or how do they get there? Sorry if I am mispelling anything my size of print is smaller than an ant.

Susan, as far as I know there isn't a Disney excursion to Maho (where the airport is). I know most of the people on here using Bernard's Tours is going there. Someone doing that will be able to tell you more. I know Bookite used to live there and maybe able to give advice about renting a jeep and going that way.

Jake, MaryRose and I are on Bernard's tour that has a stop at the airport beach. Brian is fascinated with the airport :woohoo: and is sharing a cab there with JorDan and Chad to spend a large chunk of the day at the beach bar. The videos of the planes taking off and landing are pretty darn amazing :scared1:.

--What are you most worried about (sane response)?
Pirategrrrl running off with Captain Jack Sparrow.

--What are you most worried about (not so sane response)?
Pirategrrrl running off with Smee. :scared1:

--More social on the boards or on the cruise? Even steven?
Definitely boards. I'm rather socially awkward in person.

--Day or night you are most looking forward to?
Hmm, both day and night have their advantages... I'll call it even.

--New flavor you expect to try?
All the ones I haven't tried yet? This whole thing is a new experience, and I'm trying to keep everything fresh and new and exciting!

There is one main road that fora around the island. The airport is technically in Simpson bay I believe, maho is past the airport where the Old golf course/destroyed time shares are. We lived just on the other side of that in cupecoy. If you are really adventurous, you can get on a "bus" (it was a dollar or two when we lived there) and ask to be taken to the airport, or better yet, sunset beach. The runway runs between the bay/lagoon and the sea/ocean. They were building a new airport when we were living there, I honestly can't remember if it was finished when we were there last, four years ago. Hopefully all this fun stuff still goes on! As for injuries, I WAS surprised at the debris that blew at us ( yeah didn't think it thru very well, lol!) but I just turned my head and was fine. The first plane started at an angle and blew people getting into their cars at the nice restaurant down the beach, I saw a camera fly out of a guy's hands! Then the 2nd one was a little smaller but it did blow a lot. The reason the really big KLM planE is/was so crazy was b/c in order to get enough speed theY had to back right up to the fence to take off. I probably wouldn't do that (stand behind it)

Our family is looking into renting a big van and just making the rounds. If anyone wants to caravan, let me know. Island drivers are what I call "courteous but not cautious" and if they honk at you with a little "toot, toot!" it's a hello or thank you. It's only if you see an American behind the wheel that it is meant otherwise. Also watch out for scooters, those guys are CRAZY. I've seen a guy pop a wheelie and land it on the front fender of a car, recover, then ride off, only to pop another one, lol! Eek! I am sooo excited to go back! Lol!

I meant to mention that our 10 yo ds will be in the club and we are hoping that when we go to ak next year when he is 11 that he will be allowed in there still. I'm not at all interested in the edge for him. He is young for his age.

Do we have a list somewhere of all the kids by gender and age? We had that for our last cruise and it was nice to see those close in age to my kids...

Cbkaity, there may be extra bracelets for you, just remind me.
Thank you! Much appreciated! :goodvibes

Rocky?????
Just a rock! :rotfl:

I am considering switching my reservation to the Courtyard. Currently we are booked on points at the Four Points Sheraton.
Let me know if you switch, maybe we can meet up :) We tried Four Points and they were booked, but I didn't start looking till last Monday!

Don't apologize to me for the rant! I am right there with you when it comes to USPS lately. We moved last August and since we've been here we've had 4 missing packages that I know of (heaven knows how many things I wasn't expecting are lost) and now our cruise documents. It's funny how I always seem to get the stuff left on my doorstep by UPS or FedEX, but not the stuff supposedly put in our locked mailbox. I've complained, asked for tracking, nothing.

I asked the Shoreside Concierge to see when our documents were mailed, and they are who told me it'd be $50 to reissue them. I think I'll call tomorrow to see if I can get a courtesy reissue. ;) I'm glad you got yours!

Having trouble sleeping so took melatonin and fading fast but couldn't resist checking the board. My apologies if my remarks are short or I misspell something...

Yay for Bernard's tour! I'll tell Sabrina you guys are going too!!! No worries on words. Kai has penguin acct, will ask Sabrina about it. May see you at port. Looking forward to it!!!

First 2 answers made me laugh!

Scary on planes. Not letting kids try that!!! Understand on son. Boys are so different than girls at this age!

Look at FE list, has ages and gender even for those not on FE :thumbsup2 thanks to John of course!!! :)

Our niece Kenlee will be on board, and she is 4 or 5....

Does anyone besides us have a 4 year old girl on board? DD is looking forward to the clubs and cannot wait to make some new "best friends", as she says.

My niece, Hannah, is 6, and she's a very sweet, nurturing, mothering type of child. Maybe I'm biased, but everyone who knows her says so, so I think it's legit. I'm sure she'd love to meet Kenlee and your little girl, too! Not that she'd boss them or try to take care of them (some little kids don't have boundaries and want to pick up other children, help them go to the bathroom (yikes!) etc., and I don't mean that. I just mean she's great with little kids and is thoughtful of them, and I'm sure she'd love to have friends! She's really small for her age, so she'll fit in with the younger ones by size and the older ones by maturity. Is that enough of a commercial for her? ;)

Sheesh - with that story, you DESERVE the rant!

Just using HandBrake to burn some of our DVDs into electronic format for use on the plane. I've said this about a bazillion times, but I feel weird saying things and assuming everyone remembers every detail about me, so that's why I keep repeating it: I'm flying down a few days ahead of my sister and niece, and my sister has never flown with just Hannah before. She needs to load up the iPad with movies, so I'm taking care of that by getting them onto my computer so she can sync her iPad to my Mac (can't get the movies to burn right on her PC). Ahhhh, how children benefit from technology these days. I'm only 32, but in my day, when we took long road trips, I just had the alphabet game, 20 Questions, the license plate game, and books to keep me entertained. Of course, if they can play the alphabet or license plate game while in the plane, there is a rather big problem there.... ;) :rolleyes1:scared1:

Good night, all!

Jenny :)

Wow! So sorry you had to go through that! I'm just glad you got your documents and in a few weeks will be chillin' in the Caribbean!! :cool1:

My il's will have their 4 yo dd on board. I may work on a doc w/ kids (going from john's info of course !) cuz it was really helpful last time.

I would never let a child do the plane/fence thing. Even an older teen would make me nervous. However most if who I saw there were 20 something's...lol! I was either 28 or 29...

Sorry if I've been obnoxious in my sxm info monologues I am just starting to realize how excited I am and how close it is!! Kids have 11 days of school left!

Do we have a list somewhere of all the kids by gender and age? We had that for our last cruise and it was nice to see those close in age to my kids...

Since JohnPA is probably very (rightfully) preoccupied, perhaps this weekend I will take the FE spreadsheet and try to create a 'kid-friendly' version.

Dreamed about the fantasy last night lol we were parked right next to the wonder and our cruise ship was so much bigger :)
