**Fantasy Becomes Reality** Group--5/19/2012 (INDEX/ROLE CALL, PAGE 1--ENTRY 1)

hi all!

i am planning to do the CC 5k as well. my understanding is that there is a 5k for every cruise that comes to CC. i am training for an 8k on the 17th (i've only ever run ONE 5k before and that was LAST YEAR! :scared1: ) and i'm a little skeered! lol!! so long way of saying i'd love to run with you, having some accountability (meaning someone expecting me to show up) would be good for me. i'm one of those that dreads going but loves the actual run.

i will have a just turned 10 yo boy and an 8 yo girl on the trip.

we are also sailing with my parents and my il's (and my il's have a 6 and almost 5yo).

thanks for closing the FE on my bday, makes it easy to remember when to come check the final count! lol!

oh and i'm totally up for a meet and greet, either in the terminal or on board, or both. we are "boarding" at 11 and my parents at 11:30 (not sure if they will get to come with us or if we will have to wait for them). we did a DIS meet at breakfast one morning as well on our last cruise.

sooooo...excited! and thx for the idea of a chain, we are telling our kids on st patty's day (it will be in a pot of "gold" at the end of a "rainbow" maybe i will tie the links into the rainbow or something...hmm...fun stuff!!

Have a great birthday.:cheer2: Can't wait to meet you all - We're definiely up for a meet.:yay:

.....Things are good here in Ohio... I just had my 32nd birthday yesterday (the 7th) :wizard: and am on spring break from my full-time job as a counselor at a Christian university. Thus, this week has been devoted big time to relaxing and DISigning. I might post our signs when I get them done. I've got a lot in the works and will need to whittle them down, but I am having fun creating as well as employing the help of amazing DISers like millipie and cruisecrasher. It's hard to believe the cruise is getting so close, but I'm okay with it!

I hope you all have a great night!

Jenny :)

Happy Belated Birthday Jenny!!! :cheer2:

Would love to see your signs. I need to get started. May have the kids look at the boards this week and get them involved while they are off for Spring Break. I intend to have them work on the FE gifts too but we'll see how that works out....

Hapy Birthday!!!:yay:

My husband and I both have birthdays this month too. Our trip is a belated birthday present to ourselves. :).....Is anyone else here planning on doing the Castaway Cay 5K? I am in training for the Canadian Death Race (Leg 2, not the whole thing, I'm not that crazy) and should keep up my training whilst on vacation. If there are any running buddies on here I'd love to hook up for some early AM runs around the track.

Would love to and a month ago would have been in but seems my leg is still not strong enough after tearing my calf muscle last October and am having to go to PT. :headache: Somehow I doubt I will be running 3 miles by May - I ran from the study to the kitchen yesterday - completely forgetting about my leg and my knee/calf did not like it! :scared1: The Death race does sound crazy - would love to hear what that is about!

You'd be surprised that I don't swim in Oceans, lakes, rivers or ponds because I'm afraid of fish. So we get off the boat on CC day get chairs in the shade and then enjoy the fresh air until Lunch on the Island. Once we are done with lunch we get back on the boat and relax on our verandah. So I'd hate to lose out on getting on the island early to avoid the extreme heat of the afternoon but it will be interesting to watch the runners I guess.

From what I have read, the race does not impact anyone getting off of the ships. Your day sounds marvelous!!! :goodvibes

....I already Have my Mouse Ears medal for the Disney Full and the Wine and Dine Inagural Half.

Impressive!!!!!

.... I do it all the time on cruises anyway....works off the food and the hangover!

does that work? I see a lot of gym time on this ship in my future....:rolleyes1

...I added a new story last night.....so once again all who are bored.. lol I won't bother y'all anymore after this post

Jaimie, will check it out -- and your picture looks GREAT here on the board!

Don't you forget that we will have our fully stocked bars on deck 2 for any of our adult beverage needs . I too am a real cheapskate when it comes to paying for alcohol.

So lucky (and happy) to have such awesome cabin neighbors and a fellow "penny-pincher"! Am trying to figure out if I will pack wine from here and put in checked bags for flight or not. We are staying at Hyatt MCO and am guessing there isn't a liquor store at the airport other than duty free and we can't purchase there. Anyone have any ideas on this? :confused3 Would love to bring some wine and bubbly without having to buy in Austin and fly to Orlando.

I'm sure you will do great with the kids, and remember that you are travelling with your extended DIS family who will help you with anything :grouphug:.

I am counting on it!!! :grouphug:

I didn't know there was one! I am oscillating back and forth between "I'm going to keep up with working out on this trip" and "I'm on VACATION and the only exercise I'm going to get is lifting my hand to my mouth to eat and drink..." :) However, I've lost 22 pounds since the new year and I have 13 to go to my goal, so I'm thinking that it might be worth it to keep up a *little* :)

Congratulations on the 22 pounds!!! That is awesome! I have only lost 10 and it is 10 I gained through the whole Sabrina surgery last fall - so, back to normal and still need to lose. Not going into a tailspin/crash diet thing anymore, just going at it, slow and steady. That being said, I don't want to pack on 10 pounds on the cruise. Last time we took the stairs EVERYWHERE and I walked a couple of miles on the ship. Since we are on deck 2, am thinking the stairs alone should be good, but still hoping to hit the gym a few times.

I'm bringing a bottle of Three Olives Cherry... It goes in anything from coke to sprite to fruit punch to OJ :-) We're getting the wine package for dinners, so just need a little something for poolside. Maybe I'll even bring a few drink umbrellas, haha :) I figure that will satisfy my inner college girl :)

What is Three Olives Cherry? We got the wine package 3 years ago and loved it. If I can get a smaller package may do that this time but not sure. Drink umbrellas sound like fun!!!!

thanks for closing the FE on my bday, makes it easy to remember when to come check the final count! lol!

Happy early Birthday Lara!!! :cheer2: Meet and greet, especially for the kids would be great. We have an 11am check-in time too!

I woke up this morning thinking I have really got to get my act together on this trip. I have a lot of it booked but have not finalized the details. :scared1:

AND - haven't even given thought to our touring at WDW! :lmao:

I think it is time to really buckle down and get serious on that part. I am pretty sure we are splurging on park hoppers but still on fence on adding third day. Hoping for a promotion at work, if that comes through - this will be my way to celebrate. Finger crossed!!!

Rainy rainy day today and COLD! :scared1: We went from highs in the 70/80s to the 40s. Not a nice kick-off to Spring Break but perhaps perfect weather to start planning and working on FE gifts :cloud9:.

Ok all my friends - hope you have a GREAT weekend!!!!!
Mati

Sure, no problem. Just need your stateroom number so we know where to drop off the goodies!

ONE MORE DAY TO SIGN UP FOR FISH EXTENDERS!

Thanks to 5Dreamers for an excellent job of reconciling the FE spreadsheet to forum posts. I had a BUNCH of mistakes and omissions!

I have everything fixed now. (I think)

I'm still waiting on Sourgrapes for a stateroom number, but I think we're up to date on all other FE info.

Great thanks John! :cheer2: We are in stateroom # 7546. Is the FE spreadsheet what we will use for the final number and cabin #'s? This is new to us, but still researching...Our family includes: Billy (Dad), Lisa (Mom), Gavin (10), and Gracie (6). This is our 3rd Disney Cruise but first time for the FE. It sounds like so much fun :) Happy to be a part!!

We will be celebrating Billy's birthday 5/8 :)

Officially made our pre-cruise hotel reservations!!! We're going to surprise the boys with a day at Universal. We are HUGE Harry Potter fans and they would give their right arm to go to HP world, but we told them it was too expensive :) It's not something we would usually do, but I convinced the DH it would be cheaper to do it this way than it would be to take a whole separate trip to go. They've been waiting patiently, so I think it's time (and Mommy is just as big of a fan, so I'm not sure who's more anxious to get there!!!). Plus, their old favorite babysitter is working at DW and she's going to meet us for the day. Since none of my 3 boys will ride roller coasters, I'm pretty sure this is a treat for me too since it will give me a riding buddy!

I also got step one of the FE gifts done today! Now the last details are finishing up the last step of those and then working out ground transportation. Nothing left after that except to pack! :) :) :)

Hope everyone else is having a great weekend!!!!

:thumbsup2 That's Awesome! We went over Christmas 2010 & had a great time at WWOHP. We love Disney, but we love going to Universal too!

I'll run with you guys too. I've been getting healthy this year, lost 83 lbs. Now I'm doing "Insanity" with Shaun T. Anyone done it? It's an impossible workout program, but ridiculously effective. I lost 6.8 lbs. the first week I did it. On the third day I literally crawled up a chair to get myself out of the puddle of sweat I'd collapsed in. :scared: And that was after running three miles a day four to five days a week for months. So I'm game for runs around the deck with anyone who's up for it and willing to run with a SLOW jogger. And the race.

Anyone know what time the 5K is, morning/afternoon?

So far I think Spacecanada, Jaymepops, bookite and Boomerang4, right? Anyone else interested? This could be fun to have a little group....

Meg

Eating right, consistent exercise. Muscles building, but still not much of a change in the belly fat. And weight is still the same, though I know that some of the fat has been replaced by muscle. I hope to be up to running the 5K there. It really isn't a race. It's just a marked path that you can run if you want to. In the early years I understand that you would receive a certificate and the 'winner' a water bottle or something. Last I heard, you meet the CM at the start and they basically point at the path and say, "run thataway!". Just a fun run for those that get tired of laps around the ship I think. Still, would be fun for our group to sort of hang together.

Howdy Neighbor!! We are in room #7548!!! I hesitate to say hello, just on the off chance that we are that family that everyone dreads having as neighbors ;)

I would love to go to Harry Potter and Universal. We are just staying at the port. I cannot get my DH to budge on staying at DW.

Congrats on the 83 lbs lost :worship: I was doing the C25K program but injured my back so now I am back to walking. I seem to be gaining weight the closer we get to the cruise. :confused3

I hope everyone has a great Sunday. I am working 7 days a week right now so I do not get on here near as much as I would like.

I just placed a pre-order for the newest passporters guide for DCL due out April 10th!! Yay! Anyone else picking this up?

I just placed a pre-order for the newest passporters guide for DCL due out April 10th!! Yay! Anyone else picking this up?

I would be very surprised if that is out by that estimated date. For the last I'd say 2-3 years PassPorter has missed dates for guides being released by. They have become to unreliable for shipping dates, publication dates, etc that I will wait until the guides are in stock before I believe that they will have them. Last years Cruise Guide was due out in February, then March, then April, then May, then June, Then July and I didn't get my copy until mid-late August.

This years guide was supposed to be out by February, now your saying April seems like a similar story going on. They say one thing, and do another.

I have a friend who pre-ordered a guidebook last year for her trip to WDW, and didn't get her pre-order until 2 weeks after the book started shipping out to NEW orders. She had put her pre-order in the day they opened for Pre-orders.

While the guides do have a plethora of information in it, the guide was written at least 3-4 months ago, and won't have a ton of information in it for the Fantasy. It will cover the ports we are going to but that same information can be found by reading the DIS and using the website wdwinfo.com.

Just keep an eye out on their website for updates in case the date for delivery changes again this year like it did last year.

We are using last years given the Fantasy won't be covered in detail in the guide this year.
