**Fantasy Becomes Reality** Group--5/19/2012 (INDEX/ROLE CALL, PAGE 1--ENTRY 1)

Looks great, Susan... how do we get it small enough to add to our signatures???

Wecome back, Mati, and welcome dfl246! Glad to have you along!

1) If you want the text to be readable, you might want to make it a bit bigger.

2) How'd you get it smaller?

I saved it into photobucket and then resized it. I have tried tiny and medium, not sure which works best. Like you said, on tiny the text isn't readable but on medium, it seems too big.

I just gave up and made it my avatar for now. I'm sure someone can tweak the right size to fit in the siggy. I just didn't want to lose any of my countdowns to make the pic fit.

Susan:
That is great. You are a graphics designer too!

Susan asked that I post and give credit where it is due: she contacted one of the Dis-igners on the boards here. She provided the name of the group, date and the saying. The graphic was actually created by Jordak....who is awesome at coming up with great graphics. Jordak isn't taking new requests at this time, however Susan had the graphic she had in mind and posted that she was looking for the designer of the graphic, and Jordak spoke up....very nice for Jordak to do that.

So....kudos belong to Jordak!

Tony

Take a look at the updated image of the Fantasy....I'll call this a +/- pic, since the bow is on and they are shifting focus to the interior, which hopefully let's us know SOON who will be on the back of the ship. The minus is that the ship has moved back in the doc, and so we see less of the progress!!!

We are coming with you... at least planning to; one family member cannot commit until a lot closer (please DD, decide before there is much cancellation penalty... )

Partipate in FE: no thank you

Couple of things
1) DizDaddy (Tony) and Sues14 (Susan): thank you, thank you for all of your work. I have been reading your thread for a while, and yes, have looked at
every post; and really appreciate the time and love you have invested.

2) Having taken Magic in '06 and '08, I'm amazed at the differences in reading the boards for cruising DCL in '11 plus the Fantasy/Dream class (procedures, comments....) this will be interesting.

3) I'm puzzled how to post the family pic. Do we PM it to you, DizDaddy?

4) I want to confirm what a poster said about 10 pages ago: there are no interior cabins available. The virtual porthole has made their popularity almost more than an ocean view!! The ship sounds
pretty full from our search for the
right adjoining rooms.

5) Now for some pseudodisney trivia... my DisName was chosen due to character in a Disney movie many years BEFORE Disney ever thought about doing the movie... any takers for the riddle?
First let me say welcome! Second thanks for giving Tony and I a heads up, but sometimes I feel like we took over! There are a lot of great people with great ideas. I just happen to not work due to disability and Tony is a great multitasker. Third is I am clueless about your disname so give it a while but don't forget yo tell us.

Hi Everyone! I am back. Well sort of. Still feel pretty lost most of the time! :lmao:

First of, Susan - glad surgery went well and congrats on the weight loss. Take care during recovery. Can't imagine the "after" picture we will see on the cruise!!!!

Second, thanks to everyone who worked hard on the naming of this group. Two surveys, write in votes - it was pretty complex! All in all, sounds like it is a good solid name.

We spent the summer in Finland (working and playing) and are back suffering through the 100+++
heat in Austin. Ready for summer to be over and cool
weather (even the 90s sounds good) to arrive.

I am back to the rat race with both kids back in school and after school activities. My work has taken a strange turn and I am busier and more stressed than ever. Somewhere along the way I agreed to run a 1/2 marathon in November. Shall I say, I am NOT a runner? Should be
interesting.

So, with life so busy, I may have to pull out of the FE exchange. I am a bit nervous given the size of the group. Has that already been split up? Will it be split up? Would love to know.

Will try to be more active on here now but please forgive me in advance if I
disappear at times.

Have a good holiday weekend and stay safe!
Mati

Glad you are back, I hope you enjoyed your visit with family, how is your daughter? Thank you for your well wishes, and I am so looking forward to life. Down 62 lbs total since pre surg wt loss I am so happy! I so hope that this will be a good ra winter...mild! As far as work goes. BREATHE! I guess you can say that for your marathon race too! Glad you are back. And the FE I think we did talk about splitting the group!

Actually, I'm going to start to check on some sites myself, and see
what's out there.

JohnPA, can we add a column to the spreadsheet where we can find out how many are needed for each DisName? Hopefully we can ballpark quantities....I know we would likely be interested in getting more than the number of
travelers we have going.
Funny Tony, I asked if you were going to take this on and you said no. I think you waited a whole eleven minutes for someone else to respond. Lol:wizard:

I'm glad you're feeling better Susan. Take it easy
so you're ready to play on the cruise next year. Have a good weekend everyone.

Barb
Thanks Barb! I am getting there, still dizzy when I walk but other than that I'm doing

great. Well (sorry guys) hot flashes are CRAZY! Even though Tony will say I live at dizzy, I have to work at drinking water I feel dehydrated?!

:lmao:

Glad you're better and got those surgeries out of the way, Sues! I hope you continue to feel better each day! :)
Thanks again! Was not going to share the gastric bypass info but talked with someone else the other day, and she shared her story and really helped me understand some things I was going through. So I decided you never know, it might help someone else take this step or it
might help someone else with a closed mind open up! Not saying anyone here is that! Just helped me share. Down 62 total and all pathology is negative for cancer! I am blessed!

Wecome back, Mati, and welcome dfl246! Glad to have you along!

I'm glad you like! I had been looking at designs for a while and once we got a name and the quote I just asked for help! Dis. Boards is like girl scouts all you have to do is ask and people help. Jordak is the dis signer! I just want to know how you put it as your avitar or under your sig! Ps I tried to post it last night but Tony only half woke up to help me! So he fixed it today!

Also, you can find Jordak's stamp on many of their designs....in this case, 'Jordak' appears on the back of Mickey's chair on one of the boards to the right.

It's actually on the right hand side of the back of Minnie's chair, but thanks for pointing it out. I wouldn't have noticed it so soon otherwise! :thumbsup2

I really like the size in your signature. I need to think about losing my days countdown and using this size.

Yeah, I had to do away with my DVC signature images, but I can always add them later on. I just did the self-adjust size thing on Photobucket. I think I ended up with 350x219 for the size. HTH!

EDIT: OOPS! See that dlf246 already linked this. Just getting caught up on this thread. SORRY

Yep, no problem on another column. Are we going to get both adult and kids sizes? I've only looked at one site for the bracelets, but they have both sizes.

Wow -- very very nice!!!! Good job Susan in getting this made for the group!

Also - I think it is brave and admirable that you share about your surgery. Many folks don't and I am a firm believer that "sharing" helps you think things through, put things in perspective and in many ways, "un-burdens" you of some of the stress you may be under. Keep it up! I am rooting for you!!! :cheer2:

This is great! Very exciting. I showed Kai (my DS) and he was so thrilled. He can't wait to go!

Many of you have asked about Sabrina (my DD) and how she is doing. I don't share too much about her on FB - it isn't my story to tell - but here, I feel like I can share more.

She is still braced 23 hours a day and wore the brace well during our vacation in Finland. She grew an inch and a half during the time we were gone and at the last visit to one (yes, I am consulting with multiple) of the doctor's visits, he felt that the brace is holding and we shouldn't pursue the Vertebral Body Stapling (an inside brace for lack of a full on medical descrption). We go back to see him in 4 months. In the meantime, Sabrina has simply decided she doesn't want to wear the brace anymore. She is doing it - good kid that she is - but fighting and crying every step of the way. It has been tough. For that reason I am continuing to pursue the surgical option and trying to get in with Shriner's hospital in Philadelphia. We are already working with the Shriner's in Houston but the doctor in Philly is the best - possibly the best in the word at this type of thing. If they say go for it, we will schedule it but that could take over a year to get on the schedule. I'll keep you guys posted as this is a stress in my life but thankfully one that is manageable.

On another note, we have had devestating fires in Austin over the weekend. The drought plus the wind from the tropical storm (Lee) sparked so many fires that is got downright scary. It was as if we lived in a war zone with all of the smoke and evacuations. If you saw the pictures you would understand. One small town close to the south part of Austin is devestated with over 400 homes destroyed. Closer to home, a very fancy neighborhood also was affected with 25 homes destroyed and 30+ damaged. The neighborhood is still evacuated after 2 nights and there are still concerns the fire will re-ignite. Last night a neighborhood north of us also started to burn with 10 homes destroyed and is still not out. Fortunately we are ok but I have never seen anything like this in my lifetime here in Austin. If you are the praying sort - please say a prayer for all of those who lost their homes. What a horrible thing to happen.

Ok, not to end on such a sad note - temperature hit 60 this morning and we are finally out of the 100+ weather. Finally remember why I live here!

Have a happy Tuesday all!
Mati
