Fantasy 7-night Western Caribbean w/Star Wars Day Rotational Dining Question

We had the lobster in AP on our last cruise. I think we had the abbreviated menu and the Animators show. Getting lobster was no problem. Our server even brought us over a couple extra. We were only in AP twice I think though? We ate at Palo twice so maybe we skipped one of the AP dinners?

Cool, thanks!

The abbreviated menu only limits the appetizer/soup/and dessert choices. The entree selections remain the same.

For those rotations that you are in AP 3 times, generally the first time is Crush, the second time is Pirate night, and the third time is the Animation Magic show.

Hmm, since we have Pirate Night scheduled on the night we have EG, I wonder what will be our 3rd theme in AP. Prince and Princess?

I bought it on Etsy. This is the one we got (https://www.etsy.com/listing/128244523/the-dark-side-darth-vader-inspired-tutu). But if you just look up Darth Vader tutu, you can see lots of different options for a tutu dress Vader style. We paired the dressed with black tights with silver sparkles on them, black boots, a red lightsaber and red lightsaber chopsticks behind each bun in her hair (I put two).

Here's a picture of her with a kid dressed as a jawa.

Really cute outfit!! Love it!

Did you see that there is going to be SWDAS merchandise available for pre-order on Monday? I saw it on disneycruiselineblog. That's pretty cool. Hope I remember to take a look on Monday!

Honestly, IMO, I think you're going to find that the rotations are going to be different than you've been told. OR Pirate night will actually be on a different night. All this you would find out once you board. Again, JUST MY OPINION.

Yes, I did! I was just about to comment on this on my PTR! I have to check it out too on Monday!

You're probably right and like most people on these boards I am definitely over-thinking this! I may just leave it up to fate and rearrange once I get to port. :thumbsup2

As a heads up to anyone booking or wanting to book the Princess tea for this sailing. The only date they are doing the tea at this time is 2/11. Hope this helps you in your planning.

2/11? We sail 2/20...so I guess no tea for us?

There are plenty others that are differently priced that look just as darling. In fact, there are WAY more now than when I got that one. So many darth options :) I would look around the site and see what they have!

I'm doing the Fantasy Western Caribbean Itinerary C cruise on October 31st. It shows the Pirate Deck party on Day 5, the same day as Jamaica. I heard the best night to go to Palo is the night of the Pirate's Dinner. Is the Pirate's Dinner the same night as the deck party? If so, I will change my reservation to that night. Thanks!

Yes the Pirate Night is the pirate-themed menu, deck party and fireworks. Have you done a DCL cruise before? Some people really enjoy the pirate menu but others may find it a good opportunity to go to Palo or Remy. The thing is, I really wanted to experience Pirate night menu at least once so for me, I did not schedule Palo on Pirate Night during our last cruise (Magic 5-night) even though that's what we were recommended. We went for brunch instead. Even if you dined at Palo though, depending on your dinner time you can probably watch the deck party and/or fireworks after dinner. We really enjoyed the fireworks and wouldn't miss it.

The only reason I'm thinking of doing Remy/Palo on Pirates Nights for this cruise is because it is the only menu that I know I've had before on the Magic. It's not a bad menu - they have your standard seafood, steak and pasta cruise food with some tropical flair thrown in. The festivities are fun, but on our cruise I think will be overshadowed by Star Wars Day at Sea.

This probably isn't the right thread for this question but since we are talking Star Wars I am asking here. Do you think the entire cruise is going to be crazy Star Wars all of the time? I know Disney says no, just one day but we all know Disney fans. This isn't a negative thing at all I am just trying to guess how it will be. DH is not into Star Wars at all and won't be happy if it is in your face the entire trip.

I called and asked DCL but got a generic response.

It is our first cruise. I guess we'll just keep the Palo reservation for the night we chose and hope for the best. I wouldn't want the kids to miss any of the activities. Thanks.

Curious about this too! I think most of the other days aside from SWDAS will be pretty much business as usual. I mean, some people are going on this cruise who are not SW fans right or didn't book it solely for this SWDAS, What is your DH planning to do during SWDAS?

I am sure the store will be overrun with SW merchandise. I am excited about that!

Maybe some branding throughout that will indicate that this is a SWDAS cruise? Special navigators, signage, decor? Not sure if they will only bring it out on SWDAS or leave it out for the rest of the time. I hope the spa has some special treatments...maybe a Degobah Detox Massage, or a C3-Peel-O Facial. :rotfl:

I do not think that Disney will be all Star Wars! Star Wars! Star Wars! outside of the merchandise available and the SWDAS. Fans however? I won't lie, I know I'll probably be wearing a Star Wars shirt every day of the cruise and other Star Wars branded things at night (I have jewelery, etc... I'm a bit *cough* obsessed). So if people wearing clothing and being overall enthusiastic about the franchise is considered 'in your face', then maybe? :)

Ok, I really want a C3-Peel-O Facial now. Or could you imagine a Lightsaber Leg wax? Actually don't. Ow :p

And I agree, we'll see some branding as the cruise IS labeled Star Wars Day at Sea. They are going to try to appeal to the people that booked the cruise for that reason. I cannot imagine we'll see characters, food, etc. until SWDAS though.

My guess is "no". Just like at Star Wars weekends at the parks, it's probably going to be "business as usual" except for special presentations and character interactions on that particular day. I'm sure you'll be able to avoid it if you try. I'm thinking the movie theatre will be playing many, if not all, of the films. If you are also hoping to avoid any special Star Wars menu at the main dining room that evening, I would just take the opportunity to book a Palo or Remy dinner reservation.

DH is planning on sitting by the adult pool during Star Wars day. He doesn't really know the extent that this really could be even on the day. I have left him in the dark for the most part.

I am hoping there is a special dinner menu on Star Wars day so I don't want to miss that. That seems like lots of fun as do the movies.

I am sure people will be wearing Star Wars stuff the entire cruise. That is certainly is not offensive or in your face. The new logo on the merchandise looks really nice. The CM I talked to says you can bring your Disney lightsabre but not a homemade one.

The CM I spoke to also made it seem that the adult bar was going to be Cantina themed the entire cruise and not just the one day. Who knows how true this is?

As final payment approaches I am just getting nervous about it.

I also think it is interesting that for 2017 there is not Star Wars day at seas announced.
