Fantasy 7-night Western Caribbean w/Star Wars Day Rotational Dining Question

BTW, If AP is showing Pirate stuff on the screens during Pirate Night...would they possibly be showing Star Wars clips during SWDAS?? Just sayin'...that would be awesome to see. :darth::jumping1:
Of course that will probably not be the rotation that I end up with.

Oh to put such ideas in my head now.

So is the thinking if Pirate Night is day 3 then does that mean it will have the Pirate Night menu and not the usual day 3 menu depending on your rotation? We are on the second sailing so I feel like I have to figure all this out now.

My educated guess is, since it'a a 7 night cruise, you'll have the Pirate menu on night 3. Delaying that rotational menu to night 4. I agree, IF pirate night winds up on night 3 the rotation will either be 1223123 or 1233123. The rotational menus would probably be on nights 1, 2, & 4. With Pirate menu on night 3. Leaving night 5, 6, & 7 for whatever "normal" pattern they usually follow. Typically night 6 is Captain's Gala, and night 7 is See You Real Soon.

I'm sorry, I'm not sure what day Star Wars day is. If day 5, then there may be a special menu for that. Or it could be Prince & Princess (normal for night 5).

I am assuming that it will be a Pirate menu on Day 3. I figure if they went to all the trouble to ensure we still had a Pirate Night and move it to Day 3, I think they will keep the regular pirate menus for this.
Please report back after your cruise!! So excited to hear about it! :cutie:

Hmm ok I guess that changes things then! My request for a particular rotation was probably futile!
Yes Star Wars Day is on Day 5 (second full day at sea). Although in our Cruise info packet, it does not mention it in the itinerary. I think it's so new they haven't gotten around to updating the agenda. From what I understand there may be some themed meals, but I am expecting probably the same food but labeled differently (i.e. instead of Truffled Pasta Pursettes, maybe Padme's Pursettes). This is all wishful thinking on my part though. I went to Star Wars weekends in May and had so much fun, I loved all the Star Wars themed food and desserts that I'm hoping for some recreation of it to appear on this cruise!

When requesting a specific rotation, sometimes you can just ask for (for example) "Night 5 in Enchanted Garden", or "Night 3 in Animator's" and they will find the rotation that will put you there.

Then you don't have to keep up with the specific rotations.

My understanding is it'll be themed. If it is anything like the stuff they've done on Star Wars Weekends, I think the food will be different, not just differently named. I'm sure we'll get some of the cool drinks (More Death Star LED Ice cubes please) and some of the awesome desserts (chocolate Vader cupcakes anyone?).

Did I also remember reading that they aren't doing fireworks on Pirate Night but something on Star Wars Day?

OK I just got through on the phone with DCL...apparently yes Pirate night is on Day 3 now. And I asked what the possible dining rotations are for the cruise and I was still given the standard rotations:
RAERAAE
AERAEER
ERAERRA

I am not sure if it's because Disney has not decided on the rotations yet and are just keeping the old ones for now. Assuming these rotations still hold, I did switch my request to RAERAAE which will put us in Animator's for SWDAS. If there's a chance of some star wars being shown on screen then I'm there! That means we will be at AP for 3x on the cruise which is fine with me since I loved AP on the Magic. Pirate's night will put us in Enchanted Garden, which I am ok with missing for dinner.
Is formal night fun at AP? I assume it is the crush show.

The CM also did not know anything new on SWDAS that wasn't already published. He said most likely you'll find out when you get on the ship. I hope everyone that goes on this cruise during Jan/Feb can report back (ahem, @emilymad :flower3:) or do a trip report!

Yeah the CM asked what I would like for Pirate night and I said Enchanted garden so he gave me the RAERAAE rotation. I will most likely schedule Remy/Palo for tonight.

I LOVED the way the Jabba the Hut cupcakes looked. I have a mini collection of SW glow cubes. The x-wing one is awesome as it's a clip too. SOOOO hoping for these to be in the drink of the day!

Yes the Pirate night will be sans-fireworks, it will be on SWDAS instead. I think Pirate night will be the meal and then the deck party only. But I'm wondering if Mickey will still be ziplining down...because there won't be a party in the sky...so it will sort of anti-climatic. I wonder if they will still have the pirate buffet??

Mickey doesn't zip line on the Fantasy. Only on the classic ships.

Thanks for all of the info chunkymonkey! We are on the January 23rd sailing and will definitely report back. I hate having to wait until we get on the ship to find out stuff. I want to make sure to have Palo on the right nights, etc. I am sure it will all work out. Last year's cruise they switched Pirates night and we didn't find out until embarkation and we were able to rearrange everything on the ship.

Hi guys. Just wondering how you got confirmation that pirate night is night 3 and Star Wars is day 5?

Mine came from a phone call to find out.
Okay, thanks. I had emailed asking which would be happening on which day and couldn't get a reply.
When I look at my reservation online under "Planning Centre" and then "My Cruise Activities" it lists Pirate Night on Day 4 and another Pirate Night on Day 5. I know that one will be Star Wars. Just wondering why it doesn't show anything for Day 3 as they told you. Our itinerary is the same as yours….

We haven't called yet but I send in my requests next week and I'll be sure to ask the concierge desk at that time as we also do not want to miss AP on any night.

I have to ask... Where did you find Darth Vader princess costume?? My 4yr old daughter is obsessed with darth Vader and would love something like this!!

I'm glad you got to rearrange on the ship! I just want everything to be settled so that we can get on the ship and have a leisurely embarkation without having to run around to guest services, etc. But most likely I expect some of that to happen. Soooooo excited for this cruise!

I called DCL. Was on hold for about 10 minutes before I spoke to someone. They confirmed Pirate Night was on Day 3 and Star Wars Day 5. Not sure if this is the case for ALL the Star Wars cruises but it is for ours (Feb 20 2016). They didn't really give me any new info on any new dining rotations though. Still had the standard ones.

I am not sure if different cruises will have different pirate nights? No clue. My Cruise activities has pirates night for Day 3 (used to say Day 4) and then nothing for Day 5. I think they must have not updated it yet, or won't update it until you are close to your check in date.

BTW, has any one experienced the Captain's Gala dinner at Animator's Palate on the Fantasy? I am not sure if this is the abbreviated menu or not. I just want to make sure they are serving the lobster tail, I don't care so much about the trio of appetizers since I pretty much eat everything. If we do get AP on Captain's Gala night, it would be our 3rd time in this MDR (considering rotation of RAERAAE) so I assume we'd already have the crush and animation magic show, so not sure if the 3rd time in AP would be anything different.

We had the lobster in AP on our last cruise. I think we had the abbreviated menu and the Animators show. Getting lobster was no problem. Our server even brought us over a couple extra. We were only in AP twice I think though? We ate at Palo twice so maybe we skipped one of the AP dinners?

The abbreviated menu only limits the appetizer/soup/and dessert choices. The entree selections remain the same.

For those rotations that you are in AP 3 times, generally the first time is Crush, the second time is Pirate night, and the third time is the Animation Magic show.

I bought it on Etsy. This is the one we got (https://www.etsy.com/listing/128244523/the-dark-side-darth-vader-inspired-tutu). But if you just look up Darth Vader tutu, you can see lots of different options for a tutu dress Vader style. We paired the dressed with black tights with silver sparkles on them, black boots, a red lightsaber and red lightsaber chopsticks behind each bun in her hair (I put two).

Here's a picture of her with a kid dressed as a jawa.
