Fantastmic ... Is it possible to save seats?

Right now we don't have the Fantastmic dinner package so I was wondering
is it possible to have one person stand in line and save seats for 4 other people or does the entire party have to wait in line to see this show? Also how long before the show starts should you be in line, I was thinking 1 hour?
Does seem like a waste of time, but even with the dinner package they want you there 30 minutes before the show.

The arena holds approximately 9000 people - and they usually recommend you arrive 60 minutes in advance, although 30 may be ok depending on season.

It can take you awhile to get to your seat.

Even if someone went ahead to hold seats for your group, you may have a difficult time finding them!

We have done just that -- and used either our cell phones to find each other or the little two-way radios that we usually bring with us. Works for me to go an hour early -- take in my coffee or diet coke and actually relax as WDW for a little while -- then Mom and 4 kids get to do one more ride, etc. We usually say be in with 15 mins to spare though.

Yes my wife did it this past trip just have the person Rememeber what section thaey are sitting in...Mickey Minnie etc and which side entrance side or oppsite then call when you get in....I had no problem finding my wife....The biggest fight is getting past the CM telling you to go all the way to the left they dont want to let you down the rows....LOL....just doing there job....let them know your family is down that section

It's pretty easy to save the seats, especially if the person doing the saving has some sort of garment or something to use to clearly outline which seats are for their party.
