One thing that I don't remember in any of the guide books or seeing on the disboard is that you can get quite wet at Fantasmic. We were near the center and about four rows back. My four-year-old daughter was on my lap and her pants got really wet and we had to keep wiping the water off her glasses. Everyone around us was squinting, trying to see through the water blowing at us. I don't know how far back the water reaches, and I wasn't sure whether the wind was blowing the huge water screens or whether this was an effect done on purpose. Truthfully, everyone around us and behind us looked pretty uncomfortable, and a lot of people were trying to shield themselves, and commenting about the water because the temperature was in the 50s. Some people, who apparently did know this, had ponchos. I guess the water feels good in July, but we were there in November. We had changed into sweatshirts earlier. I'm so glad we did. We would have been miserable in lighter clothing. Consider sitting farther back or taking ponchos.

Where the water goes and how far it goes depends on the wind.
When we go to Fantasmic with DD, we are sitting in the back row because she uses a wheelchair and that's where the wheelchair seating is. If the wind was very strong, we have gotten some stray whisps of water.
In July, DH and I went on an adult only trip. We sat in the second row. The wind was actually blowing away from the seating that night and we only got a little spray from the water screen. Not enough to clean off my glasses even once during the show.
So, it's hard to say how wet you will get until you actually are there.

I think it's important for people to know that it's possible they could get very wet at Fantasmic. We actually left ponchos in our hotel room. Every time the water screens went up at Fantasmic, the water was constantly hitting us. People around us were commenting that they were "soaked."

You're right that more people need to know this. Our first visit to Fantasmic it was chilly and we were not dressed for getting wet at all. I'm sure now to sit farther back and have something to put on if it's chilly out.
