Fantasmic! Superthread - Or Everything You Need To Know About Fantasmic at Disneyland

I see that you get to go in and pick your seat at 8pm if you purchased the Dessert tickets.....do they actually mark your seat with your name? I was wondering how others know your seat has been claimed?

Also, is Guest Services the same as City Hall? I know...I'm such a Newb.

They just provide seat #s.
The CM will have a list of who is sitting where in case there is an issue.
Guest Services is located outside the gates to the left of the turnstiles. City Hall is inside the park on the left after you go through the tunnel.

Is there a seating chart per se, so that you would know for instance that seats 1-20 are front row, etc?

And I'm guessing the CM on the phone when I booked the Dessert seating told me incorrectly when he said that I needed to pick up my tickets at City Hall? It's been mentioned here that we pick them up at Guest Services. :confused3 What have others been told that have booked this recently?

Yes. When you select your seats the CM will show you a seating chart and let you know which seats have already been taken. You then select which seats you want from the ones still available and the mark it down (on your tickets too IIRC).

When you return to be seated, you will be escorted directly to your selected seats. The seating area is not a free for all so no need to worry about other guests sitting in your preselected seats.

Hopefully someone with recent experience on this will answer (my experience is over a year old), just so you get an answer, I would find it strange to have the tickets at City Hall. That is not what City Hall is for. I highly suspect the CM misspoke to you.

Kathy, they told me City Hall too. But they also said I could pick them up earlier in the trip. I asked if there was any way to get them at PPH when we are there. He said there is, but they don't like to do it. :lmao: OK, maybe they should just say no next time. Because now I'm going to ask (although be prepared for a no). I really don't want to risk a long line for pick-up.

If you have Vacation Planning make the reservation for you then the tickets will be waiting for you at the DLR hotel desk when you check in. So that is for sure one way to get them at the hotel. Not sure about getting them sent over outside of that.

We've done this multiple times. The year we had concierge at PP we were given our tickets, the rest of our trips we went to guest services outside the gates. I think you can go to city hall if you forget and you are already inside the park.

Does anyone know if May is considered the busy season? We are staying during the week first week of May. I think we will miss Fantasmic if it's only held on the weekend:(

Sorry, but during the first week of may Fantasmic will only be held on the weekend.

I agree - the first time we did this we were also misdirected - Guest Services had our tickets in the end. Every other time it has been Guest Services. But again, this is not totally up to date, so maybe someone else will help.

We just did the dessert seating last weekend. We picked our tickets up at City Hall earlier in the day. We went over to the seating area after dinner, about 7ish and waited in line to pick our seats. A little before 8, they let us pick out seats. They were assigning both shoes and write your seat number on your ticket. They said we could come back at 8:30 for the 9pm show. We hit HMH, and it was almost time. Out seats were not as good, but it was my fault. I misunderstood the location when he explained it. We had a great time, got to watch the fireworks after the show.

It's a tradition for us, and the last couple of years, we have picked up tickets at City Hall.

You can search past years yourself but as the PP said May is off-season and F! is likely to be Fri/Sat/Sun only at that point.

We'll see you there on the 8th!
:) My DD is 11.

I did the back row and shot hand held photos last month, but I don't know if there's room for a tripod. The CM's move around behind the seats also.

Not sure how tall the tripod is but unless he needs to watch over it I would just set it up in back and sit in whatever your selected seats happen to be.

Thanks both - we'll see what happens then on the night. I know that DH wouldn't want the camera to be left sitting, so we'll see what he decides to do. I think he should just find a DVD already made ;)

I was also told City Hall for my tickets. Though, I do need to see Guest Services as well before we go in (the 10-day Australian/NZ vouchers we're told cannot be done at the turnstyle.) Given it's the same day I'm hoping that we can do both at the same location. I also have the Photopass + to pick up that night, but that's another story!

On nights when there are two shows, are people who have reserved seating, via the dessert package, for the first show allowed to stay in their seats during the fireworks or do they have to get up and out so that the second seating can come in?

They are allowed to stay. No one really is encouraged to leave anywhere from Fantasmic until the fireworks are done.

Seated here waiting for the F! Show, one hour in advance and minutes after going through the usual hell to be seated, I feel really stupid and scamed by Disney, who made me throw one of my very escarse FP+ in the garbish!

Scammed? How?

Disney made you throw your FP away? How did they do that?

:scratchin

In my point of view, if I am allowed to have one, since this is a forum, yes, disney made throw it away by creating a FP option that is of no use.
