Fantasmic! Superthread - Or Everything You Need To Know About Fantasmic at Disneyland

Does anyone know if the "snow" falls in the seated area after the holiday fireworks?

So much so that, two years in a row, we have had to cover our drinks and food to protect them from the soapy onslaught.

Hi, ksromack!
I guess we may meet at F! check-in! Are you going to the first showing, or the second? :)

First. Although now I'm wondering if we should have chosen the second show in hopes of smaller crowds? I'm sure it'll be wonderful anyway.

Second show for the dessert package? I personally can't see why anyone would want to do that. 90% of the benefit to F! dessert is saving time waiting for the first show. You do not ge that advantage for #2 show.

Not sure why you'd say that. As of two weeks ago both F! dessert seatings check in at the same time (which is where the real wait is if you're doing the dessert package) and the 2nd show was heavily attended.

If you have/want to do the 2nd show, it saves you the time and hassle of fighting the first show exit crowd and almost an hour of wait until the 2nd show @ 10:30

For those on limited park time, it also allows for a one night showing of both WOC and F! with good views.

On most nights to get a spot for the first show in the sitting area requires a two hour wait or more. The second show it is at most an hour because the first show clears out and all there is an hour. For me one of the real values of F! dessert is to cut down on the wait time.

When you do the F! second show it is not nearly as much of a wait time saver.

Further, for anyone with kids who get tired earlier or people like me who were high energy in their youth but now hit the 50 mark and have slowed down a bit, it can be hard to hang around and see a show at 10:30 at night. One of the other great values of F! dessert to me is to be able to see the early show when I or my kids have more energy left as opposed to being bone tired and maybe ready to leave at the time of the late show.

Even with my kids as teens I observed that everyone enjoyed shows more when we could go earlier in the evening. Same thing goes for WOC in my experience which is why I only see the first WOC show if given the choice.

We have reserved seating for 8 December. DH is thinking of using his tripod so would we be better getting the back row to give us more room to move and not block anyone?

We had F! dessert seating when we went in September. I lined up at the kiosk at 630pm and there were 4 people ahead of me. I brought my son's Ipod touch to keep him occupied. They opened up at 8pm for seat selection and the line behind me was huge; there were a lot of unhappy people who didn't realize it started so early. It was nice because once I had the seat assignment we hit a couple rides before sitting down with our desserts and cocoa.

I got our tickets for F! the day of the show at guest services right outside DL. We stayed onsite at PPH but the concierge couldn't pull my F! tix for some reason.

Not sure how tall the tripod is but unless he needs to watch over it I would just set it up in back and sit in whatever your selected seats happen to be.

We will do this next May. Are there directions for where to check in? What time do people usually get in line to check in?

We'll see you there on the 8th!

Does anyone have a rough guess how many seats are in the front row? Is it better to sit to the right or the left?

I want to say there are about 20 seats per row. The right side (if you are standing in the viewing area and looking at TS Island) is closest to the midline (where the sound board is).

It is better to sit on the right. In fact I would consider a 2nd or 3rd row on the right than a front row on the far left. I sat on the far left once in the front row and did not consider it a very good seat.

If you have small kids and absolutely need a front row then maybe the far left is better. But if front row is not essential based on your group's height then IMO being on the right is much better even if you are in row #2 or 3.

As for how many seats, there are roughly 40-80 seats altogether in three rows. One third of those are in the front row.

Thank you both! That's very helpful. It's just my daughter and myself, and she's about 5'3". I'm 5'6".

I did the back row and shot hand held photos last month, but I don't know if there's room for a tripod. The CM's move around behind the seats also.

Wow, Janet...I'm the same height as your daughter. lol. Sometimes I have to sit on my leg to be able to see or to be at the proper height for eating at a table. :rotfl2:
