Fantasmic Reviews

We have seen the show without the package, and enjoyed the show!

We currently have dining reservations at Mama Melrose for 5:30 (fantasmic at 8:30) with the DP (1TS). Can we just add the fantasmic package and still only be charged 1 TS for it? I'm just surprised that it's only 1TS for the package... Thanks!

We think it's a fantastic deal on the DDP, but no, unfortunately you have to book the Fantasmic package, not just a regular ADR, and you can't just modify an existing ADR. My advice is to check the F. package availability for your day, and see how close you can come to getting a late dinner. Or as a PP recommended, do the F. lunch package and then have a CS dinner that day. Good luck!

I LOVE Fantasmic! Its a must do for us, however we don't normally get the package only because we go in late August, when its not that busy. We prefer to walk to teh Boardwalk/BC/YC for dinner instead of Mamas or H&V but if we had to choose Mamas is MUCH better!

We did Fantasmic for the first time in November. We had the package with a later lunch at Mama Melrose. the added appetizer was a bonus, the food was good. Would definitely do Mama Melrose again. I wouldn't do Fantasmic again. I was a bit disappointed. I cry at Illuminations and Wishes. The message of both are beautiful. Fantasmic was okay. I think it's outdated as far as characters but it was neatnto see one time. Knowing what it is now, I am so glad we had the package and didn't wait in an hour line.

Put a radio on in your bathroom, turn the shower on and the lights off, and wave a laser pointer around. Bam, it's fantasmic :rotfl2: can you tell I'm not a fan

 This will be our first trip with our 5 year old and we've made the bold decision to NOT attend Fantasmic. :duck: Mainly because our son and our 6 mo. old daughter are not fans of loud noises and long waits. But I confess, I've been feeling guilty, as though we'll be missing out on the "best.show.EVER!!" Your opinion, while clearly in the minority, makes me feel a little less guilty. :thumbsup2

I adored Fantasmic- would love to try the preferred seating and a meal next time.

Mama Melrose is the WORST food on Disney property, I don't complain about much but this was just awful! Service was poor, chef never came out to explain what was safe for my FA daughter to eat (ALL Disney Chef's do), sauce was heavy, gross, with a layer of grease just floating on top. No one enjoyed their meal in our party of 6. We are Italians from Jersey, so that might be why, but will not ever go there again.

If you are going during an off peak season, you may not even need the F! package. We were there in August and walked right into the 2nd showing 5 minutes before it started and didn't have a problem.

Just curious.... what is it like getting out of the theater after the Fantasmic show from the reserved seating area? I'm expecting it to be horrible of course, but a time estimate would be nice :)

Regarding getting out at the end of the show. The really good thing about the reserved seating area is that the exit is right beside it (at the top rear, far right side if you're facing the stage). The bad news is that everyone is stampeding for the exit as soon as the show ends. There is one other exit, at the top middle, which is where the stroller parking is located. Expect the same crowd situation as you find just after Wishes ends at MK.

First, Fantasmic is absolutely the best night show in disney. I actually like to go twice when we are in disney.

Second, I usually choose Mama Melrose for the fantasmic dining. I know most say that the preferred seating area is not the best, but the fact that you can show up about 30 mins before the show and get a seat is a no brainer for us.

I also don't think there is really a bad seat in the house during the show.

Have never done the dinner package. If i works out, we just get there early and get seats. The nice thing about the area is there are some concessions at the top and also bathrooms, so you dont have to go back to the actual park for those things.

It's my 2nd fav nighttime thing just because nothing can beat wishes :). It's a CLOSE 2nd. I really, really, really do not like / get illuminations. If we happen to be in epcot and there is a place to see it when it starts, we'll stop and watch most of it just because. Other then that, it's a great time to enjoy stuff with less crowd lol.. We dont make a special plan for illuminations.

I wouldnt say there is no story to F!, it's just harder to explain. But again, to me illuminations has no story, but I'm sure many others say it does../shrug. It's nice to have choices!!!

We love Fantasmic and were also thinking of doing the dining package. Haven't made our minds up yet what to do.
