Fantasmic rehab

I have done a little searching and read that Fantasmic would be going down for a rehab this month. Does anyone know how long that might last?

And does anyone know if Fantasmic is affected by the PotC movie premieres? We are going in mid-May and were hoping to see it, but the following week is the opening of Pirates 3.

The POTC 3 movie premiere will be at DL on May 19 and Fantasmic will still be down at that time. My guess is that as soon as the premiere construction is removed, Fantasmic will be back a few days later.

Well, according to my CM guide, Fantasmic is suppose to come out on 6/15.

Originally it was reported to re-open in mid-June. More lately it has been reported it will re-open in late May. For example, see www.mouseplanet.com/articles.php?art=dl070213xx#Rehabs.

I think we can gather it will be sometime in that period.

While the current Fantasmic! hiatus is a long one, it's only fair to point out that the show is usually down during this time of the year for rehab. Disney not delay bringing the show back in May just because of a movie premiere. They can set those things up and break them down in a day if they have to. The destruction of Tom Sawyer's Island is the only thing that will hold up the return of the show.

And yes, I said "destruction" and not "construction". Did TSI need an update? Probably Does it need a "Pirate's Lair"? Certainly not. After all, this is Frontierland. Not Pirateland. Disney is once again ruining a classic.

well to be honest, it sounds kinda weird that Tom Sawyer Island comes back around 5/30 and Fantasmic comes back 6/15. Im sure might be doing something else.

yea, i also think Tom Sawyer Island becoming pirate Island is bad but people are right. If they can get Pirate island populated, it means more people on the Island, lesser in lines.

It is not uncommon for some entertainment options to be limited in the off season. So it does not seem too odd that Fantasmic! will not be shown unti mid-June, even if TSI was not down for refurbishment. (Rehab is for alcoholics and drug addicts and celebrities that do stupid things )
