We have a Disneyland trip planned for the week before spring break and I'm looking into arranging priority seating for Fantasmic. Can that be done ahead of time or do you have to make the arrangement at the park the day you want it?

Hope this helps...jc

FANTASMIC DESSERT BUFFET

* Premium seating: $59 per adult (10+) / $49 per person (3-9) 2 and under are free provided they sit on your lap

To reserve your seats, contact your Travel Agent or call (714) 781-4400. Reservations can be made a month in advance and do book up quickly. Note that your reservation must be made on the same day the prior month. For instance, if the show is on December 10, you need to make a reservation on November 10. The Ticket office opens at 8:00AM, and you need to call right when it opens as these spots book quickly. You will be required to pay for this at the time of booking and tickets must be picked up on the day of the show at Guest Services, located to the left of the Disneyland Park entrance. Be sure to get your tickets before Guest Services closes.

This Premium Seating is set up along the river, in an area in front of the Haunted Mansion. Guests are served beverages by attending cast members before the show, and can help themselves to the dessert buffet. Desserts that we have enjoyed included cookies, Mickey rice krispies, chocolate dipped strawberries, macaroons, etc.. Seating is determined by first come first serve. About an hour before Fantasmic, go to the seating area with all of your tickets, and sign in with the cast member. About a half hour before the show they start seating in the order that people have checked in. Everyone in your party must be there with their ticket in order for your party to be seated. If you are not there, then they'll take the next person on the list. After the first show, guests can remain to watch the fireworks, if there are fireworks that night.

This is not how it is done now. When you make your reservation you will be told a check in time. (Others here know it, I can't recall the time.) You then go to a check-in podium near the churro cart near the Haunted Mansion at that time. YOu will be assigned a seat for your viewing of Fantasmic! You then go do whatever it is you want to do for however long you have. Starting about an hour (again, someone will correct me on my timing) before your showtime, you go to the seating area in which your seats are located (there are 2 areas) and the CMs will show you to your pre-assigned seats where you can enjoy goodies, drinks, and the show. They seat people as they arrive, not in any particular order. The only "first come first win" part that applies is at the podium where they assign your seats for the night.

This is not how it has been done for quite a while. There is no buffet.

Guests are seated in their assigned seat when they arrive at the VIP seating area. They are served beverages by servers and presented with a dessert box that has a variety of treats in it such as, mini cheesecake, some variation of a chocolate treat, fruit, cheese, crackers, other delicious sweets. The box is a decent size and there are a lot of goodies in it, which do change from time to time.

Funny isn't it?? all this information I put here is off the DIS...I think it is time they update their information...thanks dreams...jc

Are the seats decent? I've heard on some other boards that they are obstructed and if you don't get in the first row, you're kind of out of luck as to the view.

I'm not sure about the $59, either. Last time I checked (sometime early last year), the lady on the phone said the price had been increased to "the price of a day's admission".

It was $59 a week ago. (No, we didn't do it, but we sure keep talking about it!)

on dec 29th we paid 59.00 (but we also got 10% discount with DVC)

We were 3rd row because I couldn't get over there early enough to check in to get the first row. We saw fine. DD sat in my lap to get a better view (or she just wanted a little snuggle time!) If you can check in about an hour early for your seat assignment, you can come back a few minutes before show time for your food and drinks. We loved it and had soooo much leftover food we snacked on it for the next 4 days!

Update to the desert. During my call to dining I spoke to a CM who was very willing to give details on things from what was going on with reguards to certain Char being pulled from the parks (not due to cutbacks). TO the new desert box the CM was worried it might ruin the surprise and I saod noooo I rather see the new one before booking CM e-mailed me a pic from last weeks show. There was no longer cheese and crackers and such. The box contained choco covered strawberries, those purple star frosted cookies, macaroons, biscotti, and mickey krispie treat. I will look again to make sure I did not miss any thing, but there were NO cheese, fruit, or crackers in site.

Weird! It seems like CMs are just as confused about things as we are sometimes

The cheese fruit and crackers were our biggest draw as DD doesn't eat sweets. I know, I know! I don't know how that happened!! She ate all of her cheese, crackers and grapes with a big cup of hot chocolate

The box looked good, but it for sure was for a big sweet tooth. It was mainly cookies, with maybe 3 choco strawberries, and a mickey krispie treat. I have seen other posters pics of the previous box, the CM pic of the new box is much different now.

The suspense is killing me!! Who is it? Which character has been pulled? tell me tell me , I gotta know!!:rotfl2:

Lostgirlz,
Could you post the picture of the new goodie box for us? I just booked it for Feb. The crackers and cheese are a big draw for my kids; since, they are picky eaters (yes even with SWEETS!).

Ended up at Disneyland for a couple of hours this evening after work. We were going to try to watch Fantasmic! So, when we were near the reserved seating area, I thought, "Oh! I have to ask!"

I asked someone if they wouldn't mind my asking what was in their box of goodies. They happily showed it to me. There were all sorts of sweets, fruit, and cheese and crackers. (So, idk if the "new" box hasn't started yet or it has changed, but that's what was in the box.)

I asked the CM there how much it cost for the VIP experience. She said it's $59 for adults and $49 for children 3-9.

P.S. No show tonight due to weather. (It was windy out there!)

I can ask again, but the box I was shown was purple with what looked to be flames on it, and was nothing but sweets. I am photobucket/flicker impaired BAD, but I can try to figure it out. The CM who sent it to me sent it from their disney e-mail but I will call and ask today. Corpse bride it's Capt Jack he is no longer in the parks due to women/girls behaving very inappropriately, so they pulled him`
