Ok...here goes my rather convoluted question.

We will be arriving at DW on May 6th...and I was thinking of going to MGM on May 7th. I have a Fantasmic Dinner Package booked at 4:50 PM on that Sunday, but I have run into a snag. My son is a ginormous Power Rangers fan...and is desperate to see the parade (which I know runs around 5 pm). We only have 5 days to spend at the park before we head over to the beach, so I really need to make a choice.

So....for the question...

Is it reasonable to cancel the dinner package and still get a seat for Fantasmic? Any ideas as to how long I might have to stand in line? My son is 4, so he not the most patient human in the universe (although my DH is not considerably better)

Ahh...DW is so complicated...we have traveled to Europe several times without this much planning... :rotfl2:

THANKS SO MUCH!!!!

You can actually see the Power Rangers without seeing the parade. They have their own spot on the Streets of America. The times are listed there and also in the daily times guide given with the maps. I think it was like every hour or so. They come out on their little car and do a few moves, then move on for autographs. When we were there, people really knew the drill, and already lined up before they even got there! So, it helps if you have another adult to get in line, while you and your son watch the quick show! They are really funny, your son will get a kick out of it.

I have the same problem. MGM is not our favorite park and we seldom spend much time there (a few hours one morning is plenty), but DS5 saw the commercial on TV showing the Power Rangers in the parade and now we must go in the late afternoon. The parade is at 5:30 when we are visiting in July which is just about the time we normally eat dinner. This pushes our dinner later than we would like and right into the more crowded times.

I actually have been waivering about Fantasmic. If it is really crowded (which I expect) we will probably skip it. My 5yo Power Ranger fan isn't too crazy about loud noises and fireworks.

Lots of close-up fireworks but the kind that don't make much noise, actually.
Lots of open FLAMES (you can FEEL the heat on your face and body) on the water a couple of times.
One VERY loud noise, half-way through the show.

Big (I mean BIG) BOOM when Pocahontas section begins.

If you sit as far back in the theater as you can, you'll not be so close to the fireworks and flames... but that BOOM is pretty strong.

(You could explain to him that its coming... but you know your child better than we do.)
