Fantasmic package mealtimes?

I booked a package at Hollywood and Vine for our upcoming October trip, but could only get 4:20 as the latest dinner seating with or without the package.
I thought I read somewhere on here, that people had success calling back about 30 days out for later seating times? Can anyone confirm this? Thanks!

We have a 4:30 seating at Hollywood & Vine in Oct. When I made the reservation, the CM told me that they sometimes open up later times about 30 days out. I think this is because the park hours have not been posted, so they don't know exactly what time Fantasmic will start, and obviously people on the package need to be done with dinner before the show. Once they know when the show will begin, they can finalize the dining times.

We have a 3:50pm ADR at Brown Derby for 8/26/05 - this was the only time I could get for our entire 8 day trip for a party of 6 at Brown Derby. This past Jan I believe we also had a 3:50 at Brown Derby for just 2 of us. I'm not going to complain though, it worked out well last time... by the time we ordered and ate we had a little time to wonder around before Fantasmic. I'd rather have some extra time then have to rush.

The same thing happened to us in June. We had a 4:20 and after calling back several times I finally got a 4:50, but that ended up being it. I called several more times, but it never changed. So, we just ate early and wandered around until our Fantasmic time. It just occured to me - Do you think they might possibly do that so that you buy snacks when you get to Fantasmic? They have lots of goodies for sale in the arena. We ended up with popcorn and ice cream bars. I'm not sure if we would have done that had we eaten later.

Thanks for the replies. I will try calling back at 30 days out. I wanted a later dining time since we want to see the parade too. Right now they have a later time listed for the MGM parade which conflicts with the ADR times, but hopefully it will be earlier in October.

We called about a week ago and booked a 5pm Hollywood & Vine Fantasmic dinner package for Aug. 13. :maleficen I guess we lucked out!

Last year I was able to change from a 3pm to a 5:30 after park hours were out for awhile (about 45 days).

I have 4:30 for Hollywood and Vine on the 25th of Oct. To me it seems early to eat, but I began to think, by the time we get in, sit down and eat.....

I was able to get a later seating for our trip in April at the BD. I think I initially had a 4:30, and was able to move it back to 5:30. I started calling at about 30 days out, and I think there was finally availability around 25 days out. I don't remember what the latest time offered was, since I asked specifically for 5:30. It worked out well!

I had a 5:30 ADR at Hollywood and Vine and when I called to change it to the Fantasmic package, the latest they could give me was 4:10???
I was told to try again at a later date for a later seating. They also said the parade was going to be at 5:00 and we really don't want to miss it. This past February the parade was earlier. We also have a 12:50 ADR for Sci Fi (earliest we could get, and really wanted to experience it) and have decided to just do appetizers and maybe dessert so we won't be too full for dinner.

When will you be there? I am trying to book for Oct 27. For September the parade is listed at 4:30. We wanted to eat at 5:30. I think 4:20 is too early since we are a big group.
It's so hard to plan when they don't have the hours and schedules out, isn't it?

That is true! I ran into the same problem when my wife and I made reservation last May. I called 3 weeks prior and received a later dinner reservation. We have reservations for this Oct. and I'm having the same problem. I'll will call 2 to 3 weeks prior to my arrival date. Good luck!

When I called to make our ADR's, I asked the Disney Dining representative what time the parade and Fantasmic were going to begin on August 26th, our planned day at MGM. I was told that the restaurant (Hollywood and Vine) is around the corner from the parade route and is about 15 minutes from the starting point, so we should be able to fit our meal in and still make it. I'm just worried about actually getting in at the exact ADR time. Seems like every time we've had a PS in the past, we waited at least 20 minutes, sometimes 40. I guess we'll go over a tad bit early and hope for the best. We'll be at the parks the first week of free dining, so hopefully they won't be too swamped.

I called in early June to book Mama Melrose for the FDP in late August and was able to get a table for four at 6:00 P.M. with no problem.
