I already asked this in another thread but maybe no one saw it and I really need to know. I made a reservation at the Brown Derby for the Fantasmic Dinner Package, and while it mentions Fantasmic in the reservation title, no money was paid up front as in the Illuminations Dining Package. Do I have the Dining Package or no, can anyone help?

Congratulations! Yes, you do.

There is currently no up charge for the package. You pay the price of the meal (or use 2 dining credits) and get tickets, at the restaurant, for designated seating at the stadium. Im sure some day that will change (River of Lights charges $5 unless you are on the dining plan, then its no extra dining credit), but for now its as simple as just reserving the "package".

At Brown Derby there is a fixed price for the dining package. Depending on what you order, you could come out "ahead" vs. paying for the meal OOP. But, you could also come out "behind"

Yes, OP does have the package if it says "fantasmic" in the reservation.

I think it’s only one dining credit, at least that’s what mine says for the Fantasmic Dining Pacakge.

Edit: it would help if I read properly, yes 2 credits for Brown Derby, only 1 credit for Hollywood and Vine which is what I have reserved. My apologies.

It is two for the Brown Derby

That's okay, my friend and I don't get a dining package because neither of us are big eaters. I assume you need a credit card to pay for the meal (in other words, not a magic band tap)?

Can can tap the band if you want to charge the meal to your room. Obviously you would need a credit card on file at the resort you are staying at. If you are not staying on Disney property, then yes, you would need a CC (or cash or Disney giftcard)

YOu can put it on a credit card or tap it with the band and charged to the room (probabaly back to the same card). We generally put eveything through the band as its easier. But I always carry a credit card with us in case the bands don't work. It happens once in a while, seems more common at the kiosks than at restaurants.

I have a follow up related question. The boyfriend and I will be on the DxDP, and I booked HBD with the Fantasmic package for one night of our trip. Booked Labor Day week prior to SWGE announcement (went through all stages of grief there...), so now I'm glad to have the guaranteed seating due to projected crowds.

We already have three meals booked for that day (just the way our schedule worked out and need to use those credits - BOG breakfast, CP lunch, and Homecomin late late Dinner) PLUS HBD w/ Fantasmic. My plan was to split a meal and eat what we can since we're already doing three full meals that day. Now that I'm reading into it, I'm not sure that will be allowed. Is access to the seating area based on per person/per meal or based on the reservation (made for 2.)

If we both have to order a full meal I may a)move one of our other meals to a different day (planing on a full Epcot day to snack and drink around the world) or b) switch to Mama Melrose, and eat what we can. This trip is more about enjoyment than trying to hack the dining plan to get the absolute best value (like trips of the past, so much steak)

The Fantasmic package is per person, you can not share a meal and both get tickets. You'll both have to pay full price (i.e. two credits each).
Given the date your going, I would DEFINITELY keep the HBD Fantasmic package. HBD is great food, and you'll be VERY happy with the Fantasmic tickets. It's my favorite show at WDW, and the seating is perfect (center section).

Of the options you listed, I would move Homecomin to your Epcot day.

What time is HBD? I'm wondering about maybe keeping Homecomin for after Fantasmic, and canceling CP. Maybe make HBD a little earlier, if it's available.

I really appreciate the information, it's good to know we will both need meals. I still have some credits that aren't allocated, so they can be used.
Boyfriend is not a Disney fanatic like me, this will be our first trip Disney together (and I don't want to scare him) so I'm shooting for a leisurely pace with nice dining experiences.

BOG Breakfast at 10am (trying to "sleep in" a little bit vs. my usual rope drop)
CP Lunch at 12:45 (he expressed his like of Pooh as the only real input I've gotten from him re: the trip, and I thought he would enjoy the characters) which I know is two meals not that far apart but hey, vacation.
HBD at 6PM
Homecomin at 10:30 a late dinner before enjoying Disney Springs
Of these, HBD is the only place I have not been, and he has not been to any.

Originally, I had CP later, 2PM, but when I stuck HBD there I moved it up a little. We're doing BOG for dinner earlier in the week (Beauty and the Beast is my favorite so I like as much of the Beast castle magic as possible).

I could, nix the BOG breakfast(either to another day or all together), and move CP earlier for an early lunch since I'm not a huge breakfast person.

Do you have an early MK day? PPO BOG would give you pre-rope drop access to 7DMT or Peter Pan. We've done both after a BOG breakfast, walk on 7D followed by a 10 min wait for Peter Pan.

Eating at BOG is great. The BOG breakfast food is not. I would either move BOG to lunch on a different day (the lunch food there is great) and skip the breakfast, or move it to PPO breakfast a different day. Then move CP to 10:30 or 10:45. Lunch starts at 11:30, so you'll still be there at the change over. This way you can have a true brunch; breakfast options followed by the lunch options. You can then try to move HBD to 4 or 5:00, and be hungry for Homecoming.
