fantasmic dinner package worth it?

I have two small children (5 and 2) and don't want to miss fantasmic at MGM. Are the dinner packages worth it? do they really save you time and are the seats worth bothering about. Or should I take a packed dinner and go really early (60 mins in early october) and try for better seats?

With small kids I would say it will definitely reduce your wait time and you have a guaranteed seat. We chose the least expensive H&V package and enjoyed the food. There is a kid's buffett too. Since it doesn't cost extra for the package and you have to eat dinner, I think this is the way to go! Enjoy!HTH!

I agree with Becobscot! It is definitely worth just walking in the alleyway, no crowds. I thought our seat off to the right of the lagoon were just fine.

Honestly, we went to H & V since we couldn't get into the Brown Derby and were surprised by the quality of the food. My family is not fond of buffets.

We shopped a little and then meandered over to Fantasmic! Really great way to see the show without sitting for at least 60 minutes on those bleachers.

Be warned, the show is very loud and can be kind of scary at times.

With kids that size the package is definitely the way to go. Trying to keep mine entertained for the 30 minutes before the show with the package is tough. We tried H & V and weren't very impressed. Last year for my birthday we tried Brown Derby and LOVED IT! It was worth the price for the food because it was fantastic. We will be returning next trip.

We thought it was well worth it for us.We were all adults in our party but wanted to maximize our park time by not having to wait. While the seats are off to one side,the view is fine.We loved the Hollywood Brown Derby but with younger children you might prefer one of the other restaurants.

Another thumbs up here. We have done the package twice, also because we felt that our young kids wouldn't be able to handle the 90-minute wait we were told to expect if we wanted to be sure we had seats. The reserved seats are fine, and it makes for a much more relaxed evening. We did the Italian restaurant both times (Mama Melrose's?) and it wasn't really any extra price for the food we received, it just does include some extra courses that we might not have ordered on our own but we were happy with the value and the overall experience.

Ditto. H&V was really enjoyable and we didn't have to wait in a long line to get into Fantasmic. We will do it again.
