We are planning to try the Fantasmic dinner package in early December. If the fireworks are scheduled to start at 7pm, we are required to be there by 6:30pm. I think Hollywood and Vine doesn't open for dinner until 5:30. Do we have time to eat and get there? Or are H&V's hours different? Is this still worth trying on a Wednesday in off-season? Thank-you.

Well I can tell you this I have a 4:30 PS at Hollywood&Vine in March (park closes at 7) and the CM said this was the latest seating possible. Im guessing the PSs for the Fantamic package are before regular opening. Hope this helps.:D

same here
4:20pm at h&v on 3/3/04
cm said this is the latest that we could get.

I don't even know that the package is necessary. We were there the week of Jan 10 this year and we walked into 10 mins before it started and got center of the stadium about 1/2 way up. The reserved section had maybe 100 people sitting in it and the stadium wasn't full at all. Since you are going at an off peak time you probably don't even need it.

Thanks, Katrina! That would be the best, especially if we have to eat before 4:30!

AND from what I understand (I didnt know this) there is a consession stand down there somewhere near the show that you can get sandwiches. Anyone know anymore about that?

Im thinking of cancelling my package and getting something there for us to munch on while we wait.

Welcome...
as to concessions stand, I know they were selling from a counter service type window, but I don't know what....I know they had hotdogs as the man in front of me was eating one. I didn't pay much attention as we'd had dinner at the sci-fi dine in theater at 5:00 and weren't hungry. This worked out well as we had time to eat, and then hit some rides up until right before the show.

I would advise to skip the dinner package.

We have tried the dinner package twice in the past and between rushing to get to the restaraunt, waiting to be seated, and then having to show up at the entrance 1/2 hour earlier just to sit on the side of the theater is ridiculous.

The second time we tried the package, it rained, and they cancelled the show. I can't remember if they promised reserved seating another night, but we left Disney the next day.

We were at MGM 1/2/04 and the park was packed. We went 1 hour earlier than showtime, and they had just started seating the crowd. We got seats right in the center about 15 rows back. The early arrival was so much more worth it.

The most annoying thing about the dinner package is the terrible seats that are reserved for you. You are in the last section on the side of the amphitheater. You can certainly see the show, but the middle is so much better.

we were there the 3rd week this past December.
i got the H&V pkg
the restaurant is just a block from the entrance beside Oscars.

i agree that if you purchase the package they should reserve the center section & not the side section, but the view isn't bad at all really :earseek:

JMO: but i wouldnt stand in line for an hour just to see a show either.
that's wasting valuable time you could be riding a ToT or seeing B&B or getting a pic w/ Kermit & Miss Piggy or anything else besides hoping to get a good seat after all that time & eating in the cold

We have PSs for H&V package at 4:15 for the 3/1 show, Fantasmic is at 7pm. My thought is we will have dinner, then go see how long the line for regular seating is. If it's VERY LONG we will utilize the dinner package entrance, if not we'll use the regular line. It didn't cost any extra to do the package, and it's also my B-Day and there was no way I'm missing Fantasmic (unless the rain gods don't like me that day!!)
