Fantasmic Dinner Package,which resturant would you choose??

We are going to WDW for the first time in January. Our first day will be spent at MGM (after much research), so I would like to finish it off with f\the fantasmic package for dinner. We are on the DDP and have three kids aged 14, 12 and 9. Where would people suggest I book for our package. Which resturant has great food, to suit a family??

We have done the package with Hollywood and Vine, and Mama Melrose. We prefer Mama Melrose, just because the food is that much better. If you guys like Italian, do Mamas.

That's funny because I was going to post that we have done both of these restaurants and liked H&V better. We like Italian but did not have a good experience at MM.

We did the H&V Fantasmic dinner last week and it was the worst meal that we had during our stay. I will definitely not do that again.

We've done the Fantasmic Package at H&V, MM and BD. Hollywood & Vine is ok especially if you have a large group of people because there is a lot of variety on the menu but the food is not top shelf. BD is wonderful food but it takes 2 TS and I have to admit that it would not be our DDs first pick. MM is a really nice italian meal. Our service at MM was really slow one time but it was a very hot August day and we were glad for a little extra A/C time. Have a wonderful first trip to WDW! May it be the first of many.

We think H&V is a "good" buffet, not on the same level as Chef Mickey's but, decent; always have eaten there on every trip - even w/o a fantasmic pkg.

That said, we're trying Mama Melrose's in Oct., both to try a new dining site & to avoid overload of buffet offerings (we already have Crystal Pal & Chef Mickey's for Dinner & Cape May for breakfast).

DH hates anything w/red sauce, including pizza; hope the steak is decent. I'm looking forward to osso bucco .

DD6 and I ate at Brown Derby in May and it was great - the best meal of our trip. The price is great too if you do the Fantasmic package and pay OOP if you have the dining plan (not worth 2 credits). I want to go back to Brown Derby in December, but I can't get an ADR for a good time. We are going to Hollywood and Vine - my last choice. It was the only Fantasmic package I could get for a decent time.

still can't decide, its fairly even so far, please keep them coming!!!!! so I can get a booking soon, or I might not have a choice. Thanks very much for those who have posted their reccomendations so far.

I highly recommend Mama Melrose. We did the FDP there last year and it was one of our favorite meals. We're doing it again this year and I can't wait. The field green salad is SOOOO good - and I usually only like very plain salads. I had the Chicken Parm and it was great. If you like Italian I think you'll enjoy it.

I know which one I would not eat at and thats the BD I do not think it is worth the 2 TS. The food was ok. But they could not get my DBF steak medium it went back 2 times and was still underdone.
