Fantasmic Dining Package Update

For those who've been waiting, FDP are available now for late March and most of April.

I just looked and saw plenty of availability the third week of April when I’ll be there, but noticed there were no options for Sci Fi Could those already be sold out?

It might not be that FDP are sold out...it could just be that Sci-Fi itself is booked. Disney doesn't set aside reservations specifically for FDP, so this happens when FDP are released so late: by the time FDP are released, the most popular restaurants are already fully booked. Do you already have a regular ADR at Sci-Fi? If so, you could open two browsers and log into MDE on both. Have FDP pulled up and ready to search in one browser, then cancel your regular Sci-Fi reservation in the other browser. An FDP SHOULD then show up, but it isn't guaranteed, so there's a risk.

That makes a lot of sense, we already have Sci Fi booked when we had wanted it as a regular reservation, not sure if I want to risk losing it just for the dining package. Good idea to try to time it right. I went back and saw Sci Fi FDP’s for 2 people that week but we’re a party of 5.

I will say that I had a list of 10 clients I was waiting on late March/April FDP for. This morning, I did this little trick for every one of them and it worked every time. Now, the caveat is that I initially made two dinner reservations for each of them at the restaurants they wanted FDP for. That way, if I cancelled one and couldn't get it back under FDP, they'd at least have a backup. BUT, like I said, it didn't come to that because it worked every time. The likelihood it would work for you too is high, but at the end of the day, you just never know for sure.

Thank you for this advice!! We were able to do this successfully - cancelled our Sci Fi reservation, and then grabbed a fantasmic package for Sci Fi at the same time as our old reserevation!! Yay!
