Fantasmic dining package and rain

Luckily it’s H&V so while it is an up charge for $12 and $9, in trying to rationalize it!

I’m going to wait it out a tiny bit and keep checking the weather….

so sorry you had a bad experience! I’m a a little worried it might be like throwing money away!!
I would still do it again at that point because I was so excited to see Fantasmic and Steamboat Willie again (insert heartbreak there). The seating was absolutely perfect! I would just get something else to eat in order to maximize my money - like you are doing at H&V!! I think it would be worth it to give it a go. The weather would be my only hold up. Good luck and have SO much fun!!

Yes I booked SciFi
last night for 2 out of town guests…
They enjoyed Sci Fi dinner at 7:00 but started raining and they left .
No idea if they cancelled Fantasmic last night…I assume they did because of weather . The package was 2 adults@$50 each …
I can understand No Refunds No exchange .
They had an awesome waiter and they had so much fun !

I think you booked it for a reason, so you should keep it. If everything goes according to plan, it's a win. If it gets rained out, consider it a learning experience.

We did the package a few years ago. And while the overall night wasn't bad, we wouldn't do it again. As we opened the door to leave HBD and head to the theater, very bright lighting, very loud thunder and heavy downpours started. At first they kept announcing that the show was delayed, but eventually it was cancelled. Fortunately, this was back when both appetizer and dessert was included, which actually worked out to be less expensive than if we had just had dinner at HBD.

Luckily, we hung around the park as the rain lightened up, waiting on word if Symphony in the Stars (I think that was the name of the Star Wars fireworks before Galactic Spectacular) would go off, which it did, with what seemed to be about 200 people who refused to leave the park with us.

We sat in the rain like a bunch of dummies because our granddaughter wanted to see Fantasmic. As long as there is no lightning, the show goes on. PS--she fell asleep before it started and woke up just before the end. We told her she loved it. :rolleyes1
Haha! This made me laugh!!

I mean my kid will probably not want to sit in the rain, but you never know!!

You pay for the meal , the show is just a bonus.
You do not any compensation for the cxl'd show
This is not accurate.
You're paying for the Fantasmic dining package and paying more than you typically would for just a meal. - This is why it's a separate and special booking. Having said that; their policy states you're out of luck if it's canceled. however I'd say there's a good chance you could get some compensation/tix for a different night if you go to guest relations.

My last trip we made 2 dinner ADRs, one for F! and one without so if we didn’t like the weather we could cancel the F! one. As long as different people make the ADR and don’t link the other guests the system will allow it. Just remember to cancel the one you won’t use since Disney is charging now for missed ADRs.

A few years ago if the show was cancelled you could use the ticket for the next few days. It was pouring when we went in and my ticket was soaked and ended up a soggy unreadable mess but luckily we had a delay and the show went on. I say luckily because it was our last night there.

Just booked the dining package this morning. My confirmation email had the following language:

Fantasmic! Show may be cancelled due to inclement weather. VIP Seating will be made available for an alternative performance within 5 days of the original scheduled show. Valid theme park admission will still be required for the alternative show.

So if you’re able to come back to HS it looks like they’ll honor your ticket.

That’s new and great news!
