It's been 10 years since we were at DLR. Last time we did the Fantasmic dessert seating and enjoyed being able to sit and watch after a long day. Also enjoyed the desserts; back then they came in a beautiful black and purple fabric covered box.

We''re excited to be visiting DL for one day on 9/25. The schedule says that there are two fantastic shows. A couple of Qs for all you experts:

--We're willing to pay for the dessert seating again, will we need it that time of year or is it always super crowded?

--We're only about 2 1/2 weeks away, will it still be available?

--If we choose the later 10:30 seating, what time do you have to check in?

--Is it possible to watch the fireworks then go check in for the late show?

A bit confused so any info on timing would be appreciated...

Thanks

Probably it is still available. I would not wait any longet than you must.

Fantasmic is always super crowded.

HTH :wizard:

I too am considering getting the Fantasmic dessert package on 9/25! ;)

Although I read through the Fantasmic thread (thanks as always, Hydroguy!), I am still left wondering the same thing . . . how crowded is the 10:30 show likely to be on a Sunday night in September? Anybody care to make an educated guess? :confused3

I remember those boxes. We have 4 of them (2 consecutive years). I wish they could still do those, but I know the cost is an issue. we use them for jewelry boxes. :rotfl:

Not totally full, but still not easy to get great spots. Even though the crowds will be lower it really only means people aren't filling in the fringe areas and poor view spots.

One thing I have noticed is that in shoulder seasons the Desert Package seating doesn't always fill up. Though now in offseason when F! is weekend only I wouldn't wait until the last minute to book it.

Coincidently my family and I will be there for that 10.30pm show on the 25th Sept, and we just booked tickets yesterday over the phone. Its our only chance to see the fireworks and Fantasmic so I wanted to be sure we could see both in good spots. I plan on picking seats at 8pm, then going over to secure fireworks viewing for the family while my hubby wonders around with the kids til closer to the time.

The lady on the phone said the show was "filling up" when I asked her how busy it was. Its gonna be a high crowd day so I just didn't want to risk it.

We're first timers to DLR coming all the way from Australia so its not like I can just pop back again to see it another time if I miss it this time :)

PS I wasn't going to bother with it until I read Hydroguy's thread, and hearing it was probably the best show in Disneyland.

Thanks for all the info and encouraging me to book now!

I booked the 10:30 seating on 9/25. They told me that the early show was sold out and the 10:30 filling up. We also plan to check in at 8, then watch fireworks.

Not sure if I saw this on the Fantasmic thread but since we are staying at the DLH, we can get our tickets from the concierge (w confirmation #) so we don't have to go to Guest Services in the park.

See you there!

If you have any little ones, you might want to line up around 7:30 at the podium to make sure you get seats that give them a decent view.

Thanks for the tip buy my 'little' one is 21 and a senior in college! By 10:30 pm, as long as I'm sitting, I'll be fine... :lmao:

Those boxes made great keepsakes. After the $5 worth of desserts, they could give you a gold plated box at 60 BUCKS PP! ;)

They are filling up fast around that time of the month. We called to reserve about 28 days out and our first two 9pm viewing choices were sold out. We were lucky to get Sat 9/24 at 9pm. :yay: Can't wait!!
