I was wondering how rain can affect those show and will there still be pyro effects?

I'm not sure about WOC, but I was at the parks two weekends ago (when they cancelled the Candlelight Processional due to rain) and Fantasmic! and the fireworks were also completely cancelled. I'm not sure if WOC gets cancelled due to rain but I was under the impression that it still goes on. I'm not sure if they do the entire program though. Maybe others can verify?

I was there that day as well. I saw WoC. It had pyro in it. :thumbsup2

i heard from a cm in the blue sky cellar that even in windy weather the fountains at WOC are in pivots and they can move them according to the wind and lessen the pressure if needed. and so even on a windy day the show goes on..

Rain does not get Fantasmic! or WoC cancelled. Lightning cancels just about everything.

Rain causes some changes in the dance and maneuvers in Fantasmic! for the safety of the performers, but the show goes on.

Wind can cancel fireworks and also limit various maneuvers in Fantasmic!

We were there during a very windy evening earlier this year. They cancelled the fireworks. :sad1:
They also closed early two nights we were there because of heavy rain.
The good news: no crowds and walk on rides. :thumbsup2

I guess it depends on how much rain, because as I said earlier, two weekends ago when I went up on the Sunday of the CP, they cancelled Fantasmic! because of rain. The CM explaining it specifically said "unless the rain dies down, the shows will be cancelled" (and they consequently were because it didn't stop raining).

Hi, We are flying down this coming Monday night and will be there through Sunday. There are some big storms heading toward California. So does this mean we may not get to see either Fantasmic or WOC due to the rain???:confused3

both shows will go on in light rain. If its pouring, both shows with be cancelled. Even WoC...

I was there also. They cancelled Fantasmic!, the Fireworks but WoC was still going on, I heard.

ETA: The rain was pretty inconsistent. It would rain hard. Then stop. Then it would drizzle. Then rain hard again...etc. A CM that I talked to said it would take alot to cancel Fantasmic!

If we've purchased a Fantasmic dessert package and it gets cancelled because of rain, do we get a refund? Or do we get a $59 dessert box?!

Likely a refund. However, if the show goes off then for some reason or another gets canceled mid-show it's generally on you. That's not to say there have not been exceptions. For example, when the Dragon broke on stage a refund was given to everyone.

ok i found this on allears.net, so it may be right or not

To book the Fantasmic! Dessert Package, you should call 30 days in advance of the date that you want to see the show. (For June 12, call on May 12, for July 31, call on July 1, etc.) The number is 714-781-4400. Phone lines open at 8:00 Pacific time. Your credit card will be charged at time of booking, and there are no refunds or exchanges. If there are two Fantasmic! shows there will be two Dessert seatings, so you will also need to specify which show you want to see.

and here is where i found it --- FANTASMIC INFO-ALLEARS

I Found that info under the photo of the mirror..

I have seen F! (against my will, out of town friends LOL) in pouring rain. However, if there is any chance of lightning, it is cancelled.

Wow. This thread is very discouraging. I live in Seattle and am very used to rainy days. However, I am not sure I want to stand in the pouring rain to watch WOC. Can we use umbrella during the show?
I am heading down there in Feb and did not know Feb is the rainy season in SOCAL until I booked my flights and vacation package.

We were in the parks this weekend. Fantasmic was cancelled but WoC was not. Once the show starts you have to put down the umbrella. The first show tonight was crowded but the second was pretty empty. People basically stood wherever they wanted.

We try hard around here to get everyone who participates on this board as prepared as possible for their DLR trips. For the most part those that invest some time here have better trips and avoid common pitfalls.

For the record here is some weather data I get out on this board whenever weather issues come up. Hopefully it will help you and others in the future. :)

This is all a bit upsetting. =( I made reservations for the WOC picnic a few weeks in advance as well as getting advance tickets as a surprise to my boyfriend for his birthday. I'm planning on taking him tomorrow but there are high chances of thunderstorms apparently. I guess my surprise won't be as fun as I had hoped it would be.

We were at DL on Saturday when Fantasmic was cancelled. It caught us off guard as it was not raining too hard, rather a steady shower for most of the day. We had purchased the dessert package, and got our money back. We went to City Hall, and it took 5 minutes or so, but they charged back the credit card we originally purchased it on. If we had not had that card on us, they would have given us cash...
