So I have River belle ADR for Fantasmic; this is my question. ..during our trip Fantasmic is only Saturday and Sunday. We had hoped to use Sunday as an off day and would be in California for EMHon the Saturday mornong. How quickly do you think Fast passes will be gone ..trying to weigh if we need the ADR to have a decent fastpass. This would be Saturday August 26.

Basically if you want to watch the show from the center you need a dining package, if it doesn't matter a FP can work, but I would expect it to sell out by around an hour after the park opens when it is running weekends only, especially if it isn't running on Friday as well that weekend for the foreseeable future since it has been down for about a year and a half and is still so newly opened.

Also a word to the wise, you will probably see crowds higher during the week than on Saturday during that time since the lower level passes will have been unblocked that week and a lot of local schools are still out, it happens every year and the extra crowds during the week usually last until mid September. During this time frame, the days of the week go from least crowded to most crowded:
  • Saturday
  • Wednesday
  • Tuesday/Thursday
  • Monday/Friday
  • Sunday
This is counterintuitive to most people's thinking, and note once you hit Wednesday you are looking at high crowd levels, that Sunday will also be extremely busy because it is the first day that the lower level passes that are not weekdays only are unblocked, really it is going to be a very busy week.

DL has the extra magic hour on Saturdays, not DCA.

Yes, especially that particular Sunday since. It is the first unblocked Sunday after all of summer and the first unblocked Sunday since the trains started running again after being closed for a year and a half. That Saturday should be absolutely an amazing day to go though, although I think Deluxe may be unblocked. Really two weeks earlier would have been a lot better, but still should be manageable, I would recommend getting MaxPass and using it to the fullest during this time frame.

The calendar shows EMH Sat. &Sun that weekend...and a MM on Sunday ...

Yes, especially that particular Sunday..

MM is that Sunday, 8/27, because of the annual CHOC Walk in the parks (which will bring even more crowds to the esplanade and the parks). The Walk starts in DL, goes to DCA, then ends in DTD. So MM moved to DL to give CMs more time to get DCA ready for opening.
